October 6, 200322 yr Besides being a Sox fan, I'm also a big Marquette basketball fan (in case my name didn't make it obvious). I've also adopted both the Heat and the Marlins in the last 6 months ? one for the Cubs, the other to support Dwyane Wade. You Heat fans will be blown away by Wade. If you think he's good now, wait until you see him in person ? TV just doesn't do him justice. He takes over a game like nobody I've ever seen, save Michael Jordan. Wade is not MJ, but he will have a Hall of Fame career and will be Rookie of the Year. Most importantly, he's a standup guy. Extremely nice, extremely humble. Pat Riley made a helluva pick.
October 6, 200322 yr I'm looking forward to seeing him play I've heard about him in the papers and seen him on the news down here but really want to check out his skills in real life. Hopefully the heat will have a good team this year
October 6, 200322 yr I remember when he had a triple double to upset Kentucky in the tourney. His height worries me. Is he even 6'4?
October 6, 200322 yr Author I remember when he had a triple double to upset Kentucky in the tourney. His height worries me. Is he even 6'4? I doubt it. But don't worry about his height -- it's all about his arm length and his explosiveness. He gets more steals than you'd believe, and he has an amazing ability to fly by players on the way to the basket. It's a sight to behold.

Sure, he could do that in Conference USA, but it may be a different story in the NBA. We'll see.
October 6, 200322 yr I cant wait to see him, Odom, and Butler on the fastbreak...can u say HIGHLIGHT REEL???? :w00t

Well, he couldn't have done it any better against Kentucky, and that team was as close to NBA-caliber as you'll ever find in college.
October 7, 200322 yr Dwyane Wade still brings pain to me knowing that instead of him, Da Bulls are left with Kirk, blah.
October 8, 200322 yr In the Heats opening preseason game against the 76ers tonight, Wade played 35 minutes and had 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, and 4 blocked shots. Not a bad way to start.
October 8, 200322 yr so miami now has wade, odom, jones, grant, butler. not the lakers, but thats a better starting 5 then we had back in the old days. heat all the way this yr its about time a heat draft pick turned out to be good
October 29, 200322 yr he also had 5 turnovers and 4 assists, although i'll admit that you can't rag on him for those numbers with a sample size of 1 game. 18 points is great
October 29, 200322 yr Wade wil be a better player than Caron Butler in my opinion...He will turn around this franchise.

I had my doubts but I'm pretty confident we'll see Dwyane in the ASG in a few years.
March 30, 200422 yr If anyone isn't convinced then I don't know what rock they've been living in... BTW: If the Heat make the playoffs with home-court advantage, Dwyane Wade should be ROY IMO.
April 1, 200422 yr If anyone isn't convinced then I don't know what rock they've been living in... BTW: If the Heat make the playoffs with home-court advantage, Dwyane Wade should be ROY IMO. impossible, unfortunatly it seems like the Nuggets are making the playoffs as well .... any other year and Wade would have gotten it, but with Melo and LeBron its impossibly too much hype around those two
April 2, 200422 yr If anyone isn't convinced then I don't know what rock they've been living in... BTW: If the Heat make the playoffs with home-court advantage, Dwyane Wade should be ROY IMO. No way dude! What Carmelo and LeBron are doing is incredible, and Wade is the 2nd or 3rd option on a mediocre team of veterans while both Denver and Cleveland have overachieved.

I agree that LeBron and Melo are more deserving, but it's crazy to dismiss Wade from the discussion. He's definitely underrated nationally.
April 2, 200422 yr Miami's a mediocre team of veterans? Yeah okay.....I never knew Udonis, Caron, and Lamar were considered veterans.. The Heat have definitely overachieved honeybun. With our 0-7 start, they were saying we might break the lowest wins in the season record. And where are we now? I do agree though because I think Dwyane has had more help than Bron or Melo, not because the Heat is "a mediocre team full of veterans"
April 3, 200422 yr Eddie Jones is an established player. Odom has been in the league for like 5 years already. Brian Grant is 30 something. Three of the Heat's four best (arguably) players are vets. The Heat were considered a playoff team coming into this season, so a .500 record in the East isn't great. They're mediocre dude. LeBron is dominating and Denver has done better than the Heat even in the West . . . The Midwest!

If the season stopped now the Cavs and Nuggets wouldn't make the playoffs and the Heat would be the 4 seed in the East.
