November 15, 200619 yr I rank them the following way: 1. Brosnan (slight edge) 2. Connery 3. Moore 4. Dalton 5. Lazenby I have to admit that I'm somewhat biased, because the only Bond films to come out since I was born had Brosnan in the lead role. However, I have seen all of the films (besides Casino Royale), so I believe that these are accurate to me.
November 15, 200619 yr Moore is my favorite, though I think Brosnan's portrayel of Bond is more how I see Bond.
November 15, 200619 yr It's not even close. Connery IS Bond. 1. Connery 2. Brosnan 3. Lazenby 4. Dalton 5. Moore Moore was not a bad Bond, but I can't get over how bad the actual movies were in terms of content and plot. Moore had kind of the same problem as Brosnan, though, in that his Bond relied WAAAAY too much on gadgetry and not enough on spying and using his wits. I just don't think of Moore when I think of a good Bond; so much so I prefer the 80's action flick/cocaine buster Bond of Dalton. And, I'm in the minority, but Lazenby was just great as Bond.
November 15, 200619 yr 1. Brosnan 2. Moore 3. Connery 4. Dalton 5. Lazenby (although it is unfair since he did 1 movie) Moore did by far the worst Bond movie ever (Moonraker) but he did my personal favorite Octopussy. Brosnan basically plays Bond how I always portrayed Bond in my head. Brosnan, however, had only two good Bond movies and that was Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies. Connery, there is something about him that I could never fully appreciate him as Bond.
November 16, 200619 yr Connery was great as Bond. Moore also played a good Bond but as has been said already, the movies he was in just were sucktastic. Brosnan is in my favorite Bond movie, Goldeneye. The other two, I can't make a judgement on because I can't remember if I've seen them or not.
November 16, 200619 yr I don't like any of the actors on this list. My all-time favorite actor is the guy who played "fabritzio" in "titanic."
November 16, 200619 yr Author I don't like any of the actors on this list. My all-time favorite actor is the guy who played "fabritzio" in "titanic."
November 16, 200619 yr I think Brosnan is the best archetype for Bond, but Connery did the best Bond and the best Bond movies as an aggregate.
November 16, 200619 yr Yeah, I can't believe Pierce is winning. Especially considering that Goldeneye was the only one he made that was worth a damn (not hating, just stating; there's a reason the franchise was in shambles when he left).
December 3, 200619 yr How the hell is Pierce Brosnan winning this? He by far is most Bond-looking of the six.....but Connery IS Bond. There is no one better.
December 3, 200619 yr they should have stopped making Bond movies after Connery left...nobody else does the role justice Yeah, I can't believe Pierce is winning. Especially considering that Goldeneye was the only one he made that was worth a damn (not hating, just stating; there's a reason the franchise was in shambles when he left). of course, it's not his fault...he didn't write the script of or direct his last three Bond movies my order would be: 1. COnnery 2. Brosnan 3. Moore 4. Craig 5. More 6. Dalton 7. Lazenby 5. Lazenby (although it is unfair since he did 1 movie) he only did one movie because he was so horrible they didn't want him back
December 4, 200619 yr No, he only did one movie because Sean Connery came back, and then once Connery left for good they picked up Ian Fleming's original choice for the part, Roger Moore.
December 6, 200619 yr 1. Sean Connery 2. Roger Moore 3. Pierce Brosnan 4. George Lazenby 5. Timothy Dalton Sean Connery is Bond, the original, the one and only, the best. the only one able to combine toughness, cool, charm, wit, charisma, sex appeal, and a smoothness with the ladies. Moore was smooth and sophisticated, but not macho or tough. same with Brosnan. Lazenby had the whole tough, macho and cool thing dows, but was not very sophisticated or suave. not to mention Connery made the best Bond movies, too (Goldfinger, Dr. No, Diamonds Are Forever).

Diamonds are forever is terrible IMO. Doesn't stack up to the first three movies, which except for From Russia with Love, you mentioned.
December 6, 200619 yr I like Diamonds Are Forever :confused There are a lot of subtle differences between Connery and Moore's Bond I think that shows why Connery's was so superior. The attitude is obviouly a main part. In the opening scene of Goldfinger Bond blows up a building, then quietly unzips his wetsuit to reveal a tuxedo which he plants a rose in and walks to a party. With Connery, that's totally believable. If Moore does it, meh. Also, something like what happens in The Man with the Golden Gun. In trying to get info out of Scaramanga's lover, Bond slaps her. Connery's Bond would never have done that because his Bond is too classy and its below him. Moore's Bond is much smarter, I'll give him that, but the way he's portrayed is just off especially compared to Connery.

December 7, 200619 yr Which? It's been a while, but I don't remember that at all. And I'm not talking about Goldfinger when p***y goes after him first.
December 7, 200619 yr I believe in 'You Only Live Twice' he does it. I remember Connery slapping plenty of women. I remember watching the old Bond movies and thinking, 'wow Bond couldnt do that nowadays'.
December 8, 200619 yr He fights women when they have it coming. Bambi and Thumper in Diamonds. And they did have it coming, what with the kneeing him in the nuts and all.
