December 12, 200619 yr Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper's disappointing first season with his new team came to an official end today when coach Nick Saban decided to place him on the injured reserve. Culpepper, who was expected to begin rehabilitating this week from an arthroscopic surgery Nov. 30, did not appear likely to make any kind of miraculous recovery. And even if he could prepare himself soon enough to play, it could once again shake the chemistry between the quarterback and the receivers, which appears to be growing under Joey Harrington. ''Even though Daunte was making good progress in his rehabilitation, we both felt, along with our medical staff, that it would be very difficult for him to be ready to play in the next three weeks,'' Saban said in a statement today. ``Because it's important to have depth at the quarterback position the rest of the season, we all felt the best decision for the team was to place him on IR.'' The newly opened roster spot could eventually allow the team to sign another quarterback, since wide receiver Marcus Vick is currently the third option at the position. While the Dolphins didn't make a move to add a quarterback, they did make another addition. The team waived linebacker Keith Newman to enable them the space to sign linebacker Robert McCune from the Redskins' practice squad. McCune, 27, was a fifth-round draft pick in 2005. LINK Not a real big surprise...im actually shocked it took the team this long to put him on IR...i guess they were holding out hope....
December 13, 200619 yr how this guy passed his physical while drew brees didn't is beyond me. :thumbup
December 13, 200619 yr Took long enough. Harrington starting the year as #1 QB instead of rushing Culpepper=playoffs. :glare
December 13, 200619 yr Took long enough. Harrington starting the year as #1 QB instead of rushing Culpepper=playoffs. :glare Agreed. The first game against the Steelers would be a W for us...and there were at least two other losses that a few less sacks and a little more mobility from QB would have won it for us.
December 13, 200619 yr I wonder who the Vikes will spend their extra 2nd round pick on... :mischief They already spent it on Ryan Cook, C from New Mexico.

December 15, 200619 yr Culpepper is finished as a big time qp, he will be a serviceable back up when healthy
December 15, 200619 yr Culpepper is finished as a big time qp, he will be a serviceable back up when healthy Now that's a little extreme.
December 16, 200619 yr I'd still love to have an answer to my question. How tall is Fox aka The Passion......................
December 16, 200619 yr We'll see. I don't really have any faith in Culpepper coming back at this point. I was never a big fan of his, although I did think he was a definite upgrade over Ferrotte. He was a complete statue out there, though, using neither his legs to flee his pursuers nor his arm to get rid of the ball before his pursuers caught up to him. It was an altogether new method of quarterbacking that I hope never to see duplicated again in a Dolphins uniform. I think Joey H can be an above average QB in this league, especially if he comes into next year as the starter. But that probably won't happen, either.
December 16, 200619 yr I'd still love to have an answer to my question. How tall is Fox aka The Passion...................... I'm pretty sure he's 6'3" or 6'4", so now your argument is moot and it doesn't have to consume your sinister mind.

I hope I'm not at least. I just have a strong theory with.... ummm....myself... that The Passion is about 5'5'' - 5'6''......... I apologize if wrong, I'd just love to know the true answer. No disrespect meant, btw.

No disrespect meant, btw. During the earlier (and in some cases, better) times of MB.com we had a thread in which everyone posted their picture. Gooch himself graced us with his countenance and even divulged a bit more than that, including a nearly full-length picture that suggested his aforementioned height was quite accurate. I know a lot of the sh*t that JJ says might seem like BS, but he really does know a lot about health, the body, and sports-related injuries.

I just had this theory that he was about 5'7'' or shorter, I guess I'm wrong. Then again though- We still haven't heard from the man himself, so..... I'm holding on to some sort of hope. Damn. Now I must sound really obsessed. Oh well........
