You would think the Prez just arrived.

Yeah, where's Lee Harvey Oswald's dead ass when you

need him?

:lol haha yeah, I was hoping that would turn out more like the Zapruder film

1) It's f***ing Alabama. The only cars on the street were from the motorcade...screams unnecessary, but that's just me.

2) It's Nick Saban. I don't think I've seen anyone in the world of college/professional sports in the non-JD Drew category elicit such a feeling of betrayal and relief in a fanbase. I speak for myself here, but I'm pretty sure the majority of Dolphin fans think that Saban's a piece of sh*t who left the Dolphins in a worse state than he found them (and that's saying something) and will really be better off with him gone.

PS...I've also noticed this motorcade as a pretty new thing in the sports world since the much publicized Doug Mirabelli overreaction this past summer. Have I just been oblivious?

He should have left Florida in a Popemobile, driving 5 mph and waving goodbye to throngs of supporters on his way to his new job.

That would have been more appropriate, I think.

If true, then why all the bitterness? Shoot, when the Blue Jackets fired Galant I did cartwheels.

You nailed Buckeye.

Saban did not do a good job and was likely to get canned after next season so by leaving now it's better for the Dolphins as we can move forward today, not after next season, and this way we save $9 million.

I think people feel betrayed because he quit to take another job. I guess the ones that feel betrayed have never changed jobs.

To me, it's good riddance since I never liked him to begin with. I don't feel as much betrayed as I do completely grossed out. The man struck me as a jerk from day one and I found his attitude repulsive. I think the bitterness has more to do with the way in which he departed, his arrogance, his lies, his hypocrisy, his all-around complete lack of accountability, his refusal to face anyone, etc. I have never seen anyone who accomplished nothing be so arrogant while displaying such cowardly behavior. And yes, I have changed jobs. However, I have done it in a professional and appropriate manner despite not having to answer to the public or being paid that kind of money. The only thing Saban has shown is a complete lack of class and that's an understatement.

Galant was a failure. Almost as much of a failure as Saban.

Moreso.
