March 22, 200719 yr The Dolphins added veteran depth at wide receiver and along the offensive line today by signing Az-Zahir Hakim and Chris Liwienski to one-year contracts. Hakim, a nine-year NFL veteran, will have the chance to fill the slot receiver role vacated earlier this month when Wes Welker was traded to New England for second- and seventh-round draft choices. Hakim, 29, played six games for San Diego last season when new Dolphins coach Cam Cameron was the Chargers' offensive coordinator. Hakim has played for four other franchises, with his most productive season coming in 2000 when catching 53 passes for 734 yards and four touchdowns. Of his 316 career catches, 200 (63.3 percent) have resulted in first downs. The six-foot-five, 325-pound Liwienski is expected to provide veteran depth on an offensive line that has lost six members of last year's unit this offseason. An eight-year NFL veteran, Liwienski started six games for Arizona last year at three different positions (left guard, right guard and right tackle). Like Hakim, Liwienski has ties to Cameron, having played under him when the latter was head coach at Indiana University in 1997. March 23, 200719 yr im all for getting rid of culpepper...he just isnt championship material...i say we cut him, trade like a 5th or 6th for carr and draft a qb like Stanton in the 2nd round while we continue to build the O-line

If I were the dolphins I would trade for him and bring him in to camp to compete with Culpepper. I dont think you can clearly say one is better than the other. However if possible they should draft a qb early, thats probably the best solution long term.
