I've been going to ballgames for fifty years. I grew up at Fenway, been to Yankee stadium, Baltimore and bunch of other fields including a couple at Wrigley over the years, BUT NEVER HAVE I EVER SEEN SUCH DISGUSTING, IMMORAL AND UTTERLY SICKENING FANS AS THE CUBS' FANS.

 

If spitting, cursing, ongoing insults, non-stop verbal diaherra is what being a fan is all about then you can count me out. If intimidating children by telling them they should go home because their team s*cks and the only people who live in Miami are brown-skinned losers, then I guess I'm not a fan.

 

If rubbing in losses with some of the worst epithets I've ever heard and threats of physical harm is what rooting for a team is all about then I guess I'm not a fan.

 

Call us bandwagon jumpers, call us any name you want but there is something fundamentally wrong with the way these people have been brought up to act the way they did at PPS.

 

The things I heard from men, women and worse CHILDREN, I mean 10-12 year old kids, made me sick. These people are so devoid of any civillity, any sense of fairplay, the only thing I can compare it to is Nazi Germany regailing as they gassed jews. How do you teach children to hate with such a passion? What lessons are you teaching them that they believe its okay to act this way in the name of Cubs baseball? These are sick, sick people, sociopaths and worse, and they are raising a whole generation of hate-filled children who will carry on their disgusting behavior.

 

I'm thrilled we won today not for any reason but to shut these people up, at least for awhile. In a few days the stench of Cubdom will miracluously be washed away at PPS, after a good rain, but the residue, the memories that people can actually behave so badly in the name of their team will remain for a long time to come.

 

This was an ugly weekend in baseball history. It had nothing to do with who won or lost. We saw the worst that baseball has to offer and its spelled C-U-B-S-F-A-N-S.

Now I do not know whether that conduct is true or not, but from what I have seen Cubs fans in the upper midwest (Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Iowa) have been very polite and complimentary of your team (the Marlins)

 

I sure hope it is not true because that doesn't show what real baseball fans or real sports fans in general are.

 

But then again those same Cubs fans are probably Bears fans so I wouldn't be surprised if its true.

did you not see that flub fan who threw beer on conine? that pretty much sums up the actions i have seen from cubs fans during their stay in miami. there was one, count em, one cubs fan that came to my store today that was polite and courteous. all of the other 50 i met were a-holes that smelled of beer (at 10am i might add) and cigarettes. they make me sick and i hope we kick the crap out of them on their own turf. i think the 95, going on 96, years of pain they have endured was well earned these past few days.

Cubs fans are, for the most part, a-holes. I had enough Cub fan experiences on Friday to fill a year (not to mention the memory of Dontrelle's home start against the Cubs after the break is still fresh in my head). But I must say, we had the luck of sitting next to some pretty normal Cubs fans yesterday and today (by normal I mean similar to us). Yesterday we sat in front of 4 Cubs fans who had driven down from Chicago. But they liked our signs and were amazed that we knew our stuff. Plus they were a funny kind of drunk, not the normal Cubs idiot kind of drunk. Today we saw them again (we ended up autographing one of our signs and giving it to them so one of them could frame it in his basement) but they didn't sit as close this time. We said hi and all and they offered that if we ever went to Wrigley they'd hook us up with a way to get into the left field bleachers.

 

Today we sat a row away from two younger, just as docile (though sober) Cubs fans. They were cool, talked trash but nothing to rough. We shook hands after the game and we wished him and his buddy good luck on their flight back to Chicago.

 

I've had experiences with all kinds of Cubs fans I think. I have to admit, for the most part they suck. But I just wanted to bring it to light that their are some human ones in this world that aren't too bad.

Absolutely, one of my best friends is a knowledgeable, very classy Cubs fan. Unfortunately, he's the exception.

Oh stop crying about the fans. I am sure we got some rude motherf'ers out there too. The Cub fans I know have not been bad at all. They have been somewhat objective, happy to see their team do well, and even kind of saddened that it is at the expense of our team. This is the playoffs, and emotions run high. Just remember that. Leave it on the field.

I was pretty fortunate when it came to Cubs fans experiences this weekend.

 

On Friday, a couple a*holes walked by my tailgate taunting us "Way to jump on the bandwagon. How long have you been a Marlins fan, one day?"

 

Saturday, we had four Cubs fans a few rows down from us (one was really hot) and taunts were going back and forth between them and other Marlisn fans throughtout the game but it was just playful.

 

And today I sat next to two Cubs fans who bought their tickets in the 7th inning of the Cubs/Braves Game 7 and flew down here to go to the games. There were nice people to have a conversation with, though. But there was one drunk Cub moron a few seats over who was taken out because he was smoking.
