mdmarlinsfan7
.....that last nights outing actually lowered julio's era from 16.88 to 14.73...im pushing for a new closer pretty much anyone other than julio...and being from md i saw him when he was with the orioles and it was pretty much the same headache.. llahsram
Consider that last night's performance by Julio was, in fact, an improvement over previous times coming in the 9th. When you compare last night to his other nights, also considering the slippery ball, he did better than previous nights... so there was definitely improvement... not a lot.... but a little. He didn't exactly lose the game..

He didn't exactly lose the game.. He didn't exactly lose the game Sunday either, nor was he credited (or debited) with a blown save on Sunday, but leaving with the bases loaded and one out and relying on someone else to clean up his crap constitutes a losing effort and a blown save, at least where logic and common sense come in. So far, he sucks-finding any silver lining in the movement of his ball yesterday is not in my radar yet. The only movement I saw were a walk again and balls hit to the track in dead center and deep left.
geemoney
anyway, great headline in the Herald today "Rain, Julio delay victory" I was surprised how editorializing that story came off. The writer sure didn't give a pass to Julio, that's for sure.
FutureGM
I think Henry Owens will turn out to be a good closer. Julio has a lot of work to do if he wants to keep the closer job.

IMO thats not an improvement :lol

Believe it or not on Sunday Julio was credited with a Hold.

Me too, but after awhile you just have to give up. Yesterday I kept hoping he would find a way to save it. I was wrong.

A hold is basically when you come into a game with a lead and you leave the game with a lead and the inning ends without the other team tying the game. So yea, he gets a hold. :thumbdown
