id like to see olsen stay...ive said that a bunch of times but i think miller is a bit too unproven to hand him a rotation spot and olsen is a solid No 3 which is where i think he will slot behind johnson and nolasco. with olsen you know what you're going to get...with miller you dont just quite yet. if we are going to contend we need some sense of stability

I hope he comes back...its not very often that a team has a lefty that you can pencil in for over 30 starts...and thats what he has done....a rotation of olsen, JJ, nolasco, volstad and miller is VERY solid. i hope with the fact that gregg wont be back or position players like jacobs we can use some of that to keep our rotation together.

As much as I am not convinced at all by JJ and Anibal, I still think the Mets have a bigger hole with Pedro than we do. Added that Maine and Perez have been average at best, I give us the edge. i agree....perez can look like a cy young candidate one start then have total loss of the strikezone and ability to get hitters out the next...that and pedro tops out at 87 these days but no movement...

here's my thing about steve phillips....he says that BOTH the marlins and phils have starting pitching problems yet he still puts them as the favorite to win the division. his logic makes no sense...also i dont know if anyone else saw this but before the ASB there was an episode of BBTN where phillips didnt think the fish had enough SP to win the division....then about a week later he said the phillies weakness was starting pitching but they would be able to overcome that to win....MAKES NO SENSE!!! Between him and Kruk they are both terrible!!!!! :banghead :banghead

Those ready in the near future are McPherson at 3B and Sanchez at 1B. Down the road, it's Dominguez at 3B and Morrison or Stanton (if he keeps growing) at 1B. This is provided they all continue producing, of course. you dont think stanton would be the RF or LF??
