August 8, 200817 yr What team do you guys think has the best starting rotation in the NL East? Lets just look at the mets, marlins and phils for the sake of this discussion because they're still in it. Mets: Johan Santana, Oliver Perez, Mike Pelfrey, Pedro Martinez, John Maine? Phils: Cole Hamels, Kyle Kendrick, Joe Blanton, Jamie Moyer, Brett Meyers Marlins: Ricky Nolasco, Josh Johnson, Scott Olsen, Anibal Sanchez, Chris Volstad
August 8, 200817 yr Well this is my first post but what team do you guys think has the best starting rotation in the NL East? Lets just look at the mets, marlins and phils for the sake of this discussion because they're still in it. Mets: Johan Santana, Oliver Perez, Mike Pelfrey, Pedro Martinez, John Maine? Phils: Cole Hamels, Kyle Kendrick, Joe Blanton, Jamie Moyer, Brett Meyers Marlins: Ricky Nolasco, Josh Johnson, Scott Olsen, Anibal Sanchez, Chris Volstad the Phillies obviously have the worse, no question about it. The marlins have the most potential, but when it comes down to actual numbers, Santana-Perez-Pelfrey-Maine-Martinez still is one of the best in the NL, The marlins can be their one day when everyone is healthy and in their prime but the mets have the best in the East
August 8, 200817 yr As much as I am not convinced at all by JJ and Anibal, I still think the Mets have a bigger hole with Pedro than we do. Added that Maine and Perez have been average at best, I give us the edge.

August 8, 200817 yr the problem wit the mets is that their bullpen is in the frits, that gives us the edge overall
August 8, 200817 yr Starting pitching, go ahead give it to the Mutts, but overall pitching... we have that one down when our pen is solid after a starter goes 7+
August 8, 200817 yr Both the Mets and Phillies have problems. With the Muts, Pedro is never healthy, Maine is injured. Even Johan hasn't been the pitcher he was with the Twinkies. The Phillies are very top heavy.
