July 31, 200818 yr According to ESPN's Peter Gammons, the Marlins have acquired lefty reliever Arthur Rhodes for 22 year-old righty Gaby Hernandez. The Fish acquired Hernandez in '05 for Paul Lo Duca. Hernandez is a solid return for Rhodes, even if he struggled in a Triple A stint this year. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/
July 31, 200818 yr Fine with me. Hernandez was still at least two years away. Before his last outing, Rhodes had gone 18 appearances without giving up a run. For a lefty specialist, we couldn't have done much better.

July 31, 200818 yr I don't like this deal...I'm ok with dealing Gaby....but he could have been a piece for a deal for someone who is younger and better than Rhodes. The return for us on Gaby was not maximized. Badenhop or Trahern should have been enough for Rhodes
