Posted May 23, 200717 yr The man who said he owed it to his victims and society to die, last words were "Go Raiders," before his execution on Tuesday. It was a frivolous last statement among the dour moods of the people who had a hand in Robert Charles Comer's execution, from the cook who prepared his last meal to the medically-trained personnel who gave the lethal injection. Tuesday morning, Comer became the first inmate in the state to be put to death since November 2000. In 1987, Comer was convicted of killing a camper and raping a female camper in front of her boyfriend. Last month, the Arizona Supreme Court issued an execution warrant for Comer, meaning they granted his request to be executed. On Monday, the Supreme Court refused to postpone the execution. Tuesday morning, at 10:03 a.m., Comer was strapped down and injected with a lethal substance. He was pronounced dead at 10:08 a.m. Robert Comer took a picture of his daughter with him to the death chamber, along with three people that he requested to be with him. A witness says he had a smile on his face. "At one point," says the witness, "after phase one, he raised up his arm as if he were saying 'bye.'" "He seemed calm," said another witness. "He seemed to be accepting. He didn't put up a struggle. Just seemed to go along with what was happening." For the first time ever, a critical response team was put in place to help corrections officers and staff deal with the execution and any religious and moral dilemmas. http://www.nbc11.com/news/13371034/detail.html

May 24, 200717 yr Its not like the old days where you could be executed for stealing a horse. Death is justified for the truly deserving scum of this country.
May 25, 200717 yr he confessed and said he owed it to the victims to die...in other words he wanted to die...in this case, I have no complaints... usually I do not support the deathe penalty.
