May 30, 200719 yr kobe for the #1 pick even though I could never see Bynum at PF, nor would it work with the blazers' horrendous cap situation but I love speculation, so why not
May 30, 200719 yr Kobe for Wade... HELL TO THE NO Let Kobe stay with the Lakers or cause drama on the West Coast, we can pickup another player instead. Assuming you would be able to make that trade (Wade for Kobe), you'd be out of your mind not to do it. I still wish we could have got Wade for Shaq. Kobe/Wade backcourt. Man. No way Kobe accepts a trade to go play with Shaq again. kobe for the #1 pick even though I could never see Bynum at PF, nor would it work with the blazers' horrendous cap situation but I love speculation, so why not An Odom/Bynum/Oden frontcourt would be interesting.

I'm sure Kobe has a no trade clause and doubt he would even consider going to portland, who knows crazier things have happend. Its just me but I think the heat would be better if they never made the trade for shaq, Think about Butler Odom and Wade.
May 30, 200719 yr You won a title, how much better do you want? Or maybe my sarcasm meter isn't on high enough.
May 30, 200719 yr You won a title, how much better do you want? Or maybe my sarcasm meter isn't on high enough. I'm not really a heat fan, but I was thinking more along the lines of the future. The heat haven't really developed a center for when Shaq retires, I just think they went from a real young team to a real old team within a year but that I guess is the price of the championship.

Discussion over. Butler, Odom, and Wade.... They don't exactly make my toes tingle. They might have been good, maybe good enough to get out of the East, but would have never made it past any of the top teams in the West with that core.

Assuming you would be able to make that trade (Wade for Kobe), you'd be out of your mind not to do it. No you wouldn't be. I love Kobe as a player, but to me, DWade is a better team player. Obviously you might think me being a Heat fan, there is a bias that makes me say that. However, I honestly think there are a lot of others who are not a fan of either team and would think the same way,
May 30, 200719 yr I don't trade Kobe for him, no way. I just think Kobe's a better player. Although, much like you, I'm obviously biased.
May 30, 200719 yr I was going to let the Kobe for Wade thing go, but since it's been brought back up...seriously, the Heat would be insane if they traded Wade for Kobe. You can put aside the argument over who is the better player...either way, it's pretty close...I am convinced Wade is a better basketball player, but what the hell, we can go back and forth on that forever. But the Heat aren't going to give up the guy who should be the face of the franchise for the next dozen years or so...a guy the hometown already loves...a guy who has already won a championship here...for a guy who is at best a marginally better player, and who is pretty strongly disliked here and pretty much everywhere else outside of LA. And who, by the way, is 4 years older. There would be a riot in the streets of Miami if the Heat made that trade.
May 30, 200719 yr Author Here are two proposals I have. Proposal 1 MIA Gets: G Kobe Bryant 2nd Rd. Pick LAL Gets: F Dorrell Wright F Antoine Walker G Jason Williams C Michael Doleac Proposal 2 CHI Gets: G Kobe Bryant C Andrew Bynum LAL Gets: G Ben Gordon F Luol Deng C Ben Wallace
May 30, 200719 yr No offense, but both of those are terrible. Why would LA be getting back peanuts for him? Why would they do either of those deals?
May 30, 200719 yr Kobe has pretty much backed tracked massively on his comments. He might as well say he was misquoted. It's much more likely that the Lakers make a trade and fulfill Kobe's demands. I think they would really have a shot at getting Jermaine Oneal if they gave up their hardon for Bynum. Jermaine Oneal for Odom, Bynum, and filler.

They have a point guard, Doleac played what 5 minutes all year and Walker is straight Garbage. So basically its Dorrell Wright for Kobe and LA round 2. If LA trades Kobe its going to be for a superstar type player not a bunch of bench players.
May 30, 200719 yr Here are two proposals I have. Proposal 1 MIA Gets: G Kobe Bryant 2nd Rd. Pick LAL Gets: F Dorrell Wright F Antoine Walker G Jason Williams C Michael Doleac Wow. I have one for you- Orlando trades: Trevor Ariza Pat Garrity Carlos Arroyo Keyon Dooling Miami trades: D. Wade.
May 30, 200719 yr haha, Kobe just said on Stephen A's radio show in LA that he wants to be traded.... since everyone's throwing out assinine deals.... Sixers deal: Kyle Korver, Samuel Dalembert, Rodney Carney Lakers Deal: Kobe Bryant

May 30, 200719 yr Philadelphia would embrace Kobe wearing their own team's colors. Any team for that matter.

May 30, 200719 yr Why not just Dirk for Kobe? Would that work under the cap? Or what about Harris, Terry, Dampier (for salary purposes) this year's first, next year's first. Seriously, the Bulls or Dallas are the only teams that could be realistic targets...and even then, I'm not sure the Bulls make all the sense considering what they'd give up and how close they are. If they get him for peanuts, it's fine, but for me, I see this as Dallas or bust.

Pick LAL Gets: F Dorrell Wright F Antoine Walker G Jason Williams C Michael Doleac This trade is already bad enough, but I really like the fact that you have LA throwing a 2nd round pick in there...as if that's the thing that's going to even it out. Maybe if Miami throws in 3 1st round-draft picks, you might have something. Also, Fox, what's with you calling Luol Deng + Ben Gordon + Ben Wallace "peanuts"?
May 30, 200719 yr Philadelphia would embrace Kobe wearing their own team's colors. Any team for that matter. no doubt they would embrace him, I just find it very awkward for them. Like john starks being traded to the heat or something.
May 30, 200719 yr The Sixers could theoretically do a deal since they have 3 1st round picks...It would be hard to root for him though because he is a big baby and i strongly dislike him.

Their picks this year, Randy Foye, and conditional picks over the next few years? just spitballin here
