June 6, 200719 yr UP NEXT Reliever Harvey Garcia was in town and expected to be activated for Vanden Hurk in time for today's series finale. Though he had a 6.23 ERA in six outings for Triple-A Albuquerque, Garcia's overall numbers this year are 2-2 with a 4.64 ERA in 24 games. He had 32 strikeouts and 21 walks in 33 innings. Garcia, a Venezuelan who touches 97 mph with his fastball, came from the Red Sox in the Josh Beckett trade in November 2005. i really dont get why they would want 13 pitchers!!!!
June 6, 200719 yr Interesting. Maybe they were afraid of the bullpen getting fatigued in the double header? I don't know.
June 6, 200719 yr Author wait now in the miami herald it has fredi quoted as saying their going to keep vanden hurk!!! and then the post says that hell stay up to give mitre more time......i guess well see
June 6, 200719 yr If Sergio couldnt pitch game 1 -RVH would pitch that game. Then Harvey would pitch game two. He was there for emergency reasons - nothing more.
