The Panthers made two moves this afternoon, signing center Brett McLean from Colorado to a three-year deal, and also signing former Cap Richard Zednick to a two-year contract.

Brett Mclean is a good signing. Young guy who can grow and is in his prime right now.

The best part of this deal is it leaves A LOT of room for another signing (big one?) or two smaller ones. Brett Mclean comes at a cap hit of $1.7 million per year and Zednik at roughly $1.63 million per year or so.

Both are good signings at these prices. The Zednik signing is a smart one. he could be a bargin. It reminds me of the Panthers signing Stumpel a few years ago after a down year. Hopefully JM has a big move coming seeing as how cheaply these guys were signed.

You are joking right? Zednik has 4 fighing majors in 9 seasons. He isnt even a big player at 6 feet 200 lbs.

 

Panthers need a top two line forward to have a serious chance at a playoff spot. The roster as it is right now, battles for an 8th seed.
