And Treanor has a career .715 OPS in the minors. over like 11 seasons. He's an awful hitter.

Their CERA is about the same. I know CERA is the worst stat ever but it's the only one I know of. If you can quantify or prove how Treanor handles the pitchers better I would love to read it.

His career OPS is higher and to me that makes him the "better" hitter. Both of them suck but one of them sucks a little more.

 

But see, this biggest problem with OPS is that it puts one point of SLG at the same value of OBP. One point of OBP is 3, 4, or even 5 times more valuable than a point of SLG%. I have to run so I can't do the calculations right now, but just looking at Treanor's OBP and Olivo's I'm willing to bet Treanor is as good or even better than Olivo.

From what I've seen, the only thing Olivo brings to the plate over Treanor is more power, but I don't think that makes him a better hittter. Oh, sorry, "better" hitter.

Willingham shouldn't even be considered a catcher anymore.

 

I still can't bring myself to consider him a LFer.

He does a okay job in LF.

 

The past season and a half I would have argued all day long on this. But he is becoming much better out there. I no longer hold my breath when I see a fly ball head his direction. He has been putting himself in better position to back up OF plays, wich is something that goes pretty much unnoticed. I think his weakness is in judging balls around the wall, not taking them off the wall but judging how far up the wall and how near to the wall he is. I think some of those balls he lets hit and then fields could be caught. But he is definetly getting better defensively.
