Several Dolphins players received signed notes from former coach Nick Saban on Thursday, thanking them for their contributions to the team during his tenure while also wishing them luck in the upcoming season.

 

The short message was typed on a computer, and each note was personally signed by the University of Alabama head coach. A Crimson Tide logo was also printed at the top of the letters. Every player that played for Saban in Miami will receive one.

 

''I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to you for your dedication,'' Saban wrote in part.

 

Backup quarterback Cleo Lemon appreciated the gesture, saying he still appreciates Saban giving him the opportunity to get his first start in the NFL last year. Cornerback Jason Allen and running back Ronnie Brown also opened their enveloped greetings Thursday.

 

Brown, an Auburn graduate, pulled out a pen and put an ''X'' through the Crimson Tide logo, while also scribbling out ''University of Alabama.'' While he appreciated Saban's note, his school pride is still important to him.

 

''Once you go to Auburn,'' Brown joked, ``it's part of the rule.''

I don't understand the hate. The guy wasn't cut out for the NFl and it was showing. So he went back to the game he loves when his stock was still very high. God I f***ing hate people who look out for their careers. I can understand how you can view this as a D bag move if you hate him for leaving but I doubt that's his intentions.

Not a Dolphins fan, but the hate is based on the way he treated people down here. The lying bit about claiming youre not going anywhere has been done before but he took it to a new level. All the guy talked about was integrity and respect and the way he consistently acted toward the press for asking simple questions was just ridiculous. The hate doesnt come from him leaving, Dolphins fans realized he was terrible at his job. After hearing some Alabama fans call into LeBatard yesterday, I cant wait for Sept 29th and I hope FSU can take care of Bama that day.
