September 14, 200719 yr He quit the team and is back home in Chicago. The Rivals ND board indicates that Jones is considering Illinois, Tennessee, Arizona State, Northwestern, and NIU. And I hear that NIU is is favorite, and it's nearly a lock he is coming here. If this becomes a reality then PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME.

From the looks of it, he started the first game for a number of reasons, one of them being that everybody on that team is not good.

September 16, 200719 yr Author http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3021106 Notre Dame quarterback Demetrius Jones has enrolled at Northern Illinois and intends to play there next season, according to a source familiar with the situation. Jones started Notre Dame's season opener against Georgia Tech, but was pulled before the end of the first half and had not played since. He did not join Notre Dame on its road trip to Michigan this weekend. Northern Illinois officials declined to confirm that Jones had enrolled at the school. Huskies coach Joe Novak said he's heard the report but has had no contact with Jones, his family or other representatives. On Friday, Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis confirmed that Jones did not make the team's bus trip to Michigan. "I have not spoken to Demetrius and can only say that he missed the team bus. Any additional comment would be without all the facts," Weis said in a statement. Against Georgia Tech, Jones was 1-of-3 passing for 4 yards and ran the ball 12 times for 28 yards. Four of the six drives he led ended in three-and-outs, and he fumbled the ball away on the other two possessions. Freshman Jimmy Clausen replaced Jones as Notre Dame's starter for last week's game at Penn State. The departure is the second for a Notre Dame quarterback since this spring. Zach Frazer, who was eliminated from contention for the starting job after spring practice, transferred to Connecticut. Joe Schad is a college football reporter for ESPN. Information from The Associated Press contributed to this report. Thank you Demetrius. You're the only reason I'm going to make it through this season.

Today was pretty brutal, I was in the student section front row on the 50 which was awesome but I got sunburned on half my body and had to watch nicholson throw passes to the other team... I feel bad for our D, they were on the field all second half practically with all those three and outs
September 19, 200719 yr Notre Dame is not going to release him from the scholarship. Charlie Weis and the ND AD = Aholes. I hope this burns them in recruiting and I think it will. http://jgwebblogs.typepad.com/notre_dame/
September 19, 200719 yr Absolutely ridiculous for a coach not to release a player from his scholarship. Especially someone going to a school that doesn't compete againt Notre Dame. I can't stand that fat, arrogant douche.
