November 10, 200718 yr With all the rumors and possible decimation of the team by our lovely front office once more, I guess we should see what is it that we got left in our team, and how would we patch up the line up. I mean, only Cabs will be gone, but that's like 50% of some team's offensive firepower. Thank the baseball gods (or god for those monotheists out there) that we do have, or had at least, a potent offense last season. Since we have no catcher, every day CF and 3B, i will leave those spots open so you can fill in with whomever u think might come from the trades, and maybe, although unlikely, in-house replacements. Ok so here it goes 1-8: 1. Hanley AVG.332 HR29 RBI81 2. 3.Hermida .296 18 63 4. 5.Hammer .265 21 89 6.Jacobs .265 17 54 7.Uggla .248 31 88 8. I guess we could put Ross at CF, but he's not gonna be our everyday and played limited time last season. Out of those guys I guess we can expect Hanley, Hermida and Uggla to improve their numbers, but how much? If Jacobs can stay healthy, and Hammer plays all season at the rate he was last year, then it could make up a bit for Miggy's loss, albeit, not totally. So who do we put at the other three spots left?
November 10, 200718 yr You can't project a lineup without knowing who the other players are... It changes everything.
November 10, 200718 yr It all depends on who we bring in, we arent trading Miggs for empty lineup spots.
November 10, 200718 yr My point exactly. I can tell you, though, that Dan Uggla will never bat 7th on this team.
November 10, 200718 yr Dan Uggla would be awesome at hitting 6th or 7th Completely disagree. He'd be getting a real steady diet of breaking balls, and when you're a dead-red fastball hitter... Well, I hope I don't have to say the rest.
