January 3, 200818 yr Look for a job at a college or univerisity, even at the lowest level. Once you are in it is very easy to move up and best of all you could get a masters degree for free by working there. Not exactly, FIU looks for Work Study Students (students who are paid by the goverment for their work, not the school). I was in that boat until I trained the person who took my job. She would earn less money then the 3 jobs i trained her for. $21 in goverment funding lost, or just $10. They now have extra revenue for their department. I am not talking about work study, I am talking about a permanent position. Get employeed by a unversity, a staff assistant for example, and you get full benefits. The important benefit is that you can take courses for free. Two years from now you would have work experience and a masters degree. Not exactly. I know about the working at a University and trying to get the classes for free because I experienced it firsthand. Only if there are openings left in the class do you get a spot. The more popular courses are almost impossible to get into. And the courses are not unlimited. You are only allowed a certain number of credits per semester. Plus, I don't believe they offer that program for Master's Degrees. It should only be for undergraduate degrees. And- it's usually only classes which pertain to your job. In other words, you can't get a degree in Quantum Physics if you're working as a janitor.

Each school is different, but mine pays up $5,200 a year for masters courses at other insitutions, and an unlimited number at my school. They are paying for me to get a masters in administration of higher education degree. However, there are people in the office going after different degrees. Most universities do not care what courses you take as long as it is through them (provided there is room). However, the courses have to be semi job related to be able to take courses at another inistitution, but its very loose. For example if you work in Financial Aid you would be able to take courses in an MBA, MEd or MPA program.
January 3, 200818 yr Right from UM's website... Full and part-time regular employees and their spouses and dependent children are eligible for University of Miami Tuition Remission. Tuition remission is available for undergraduate and graduate level courses. There are some graduate level courses/programs, including the Medical and Law degrees that are excluded from this benefit. Employee Tuition Remission Benefit Full-time regular employees can receive a 100 percent tuition remission benefit for up to: Seven credits in the fall semester Seven credits in the spring semester Eight credits in the summer semester, and One intersession class per calendar year Part-time regular employees receive the same amount of credits as full-time regular employees; however the benefit is prorated based on their work effort in the system. There is no limit to the total number of credits for which an employee can use the tuition remission benefit while employed at the University, only a per semester limit (see per-semester limits above). Tuition remission for the Ph.D. program is approved on a case-by-case basis, based on a cost-sharing program. http://www6.miami.edu/hr/ check that link out. They have plenty of jobs available. You could easily snag a staff associate position and go to school. In two years you could have an MBA and two years of work experience. https://www.fiujobs.org/applicants/jsp/shar...e=1199385202284 FIU has 219 openings as well

The money isn't astounding, but it's something and the hours aren't terrible. Plus you get to be at a sporting event while you work. You can also apply to work either in the bookstore, dining services, or parking and transportation. I know that the last of the three has issues finding people to give out tickets and they pay $7 an hour.

Maybe I can work my way up to calling games on the school station and beyond. That would be sweet. Same thing with the Parking and Trans- Peeing on peoples days would be a perk to a $7 wage . Thanks guys... Now I only need someone in those departments that wants to hire me!!! Chris
