10 current players better than Wade

Featured Replies

If we're talking about how DWade looks on the court this season, its easy, not sure if thats whats going on here though.

What's going on, in my opinion, is that he is still recovering from his offseason surgeries and playing on a team where he gets zero help.

As for who you'd rather have...I'll give you Kobe and LeBron...But you're crazy if you'd take "garnett, allen, pierce, duncan, davis, nash, stoudamire, marion" over a healthy Wade given his age. Garnett, Allen, and Pierce are great and are great playing together, but neither one of them is a better overall player than Wade. Garnett used to be in that category though. Same with Duncan...a Hall of Famer, but at this point, if given the choice, i'm taking Wade. Davis, Nash, Stoudamire, and Marion...not even close.

For just THIS year, you can make the argument for a number of guys, but as he gets healthy, Wade is one of the top 3 players in the NBA.

"A healthy Wade" :lol

A player's value does not exclude his proneness to injury

This is the same argument that was used all preseason with the Heat as a whole and I was bashed for saying there is no such thing as a healthy Heat team and then people even mentioned the Celtics would have injuries but kept using a "healthy Heat team". There is no such thing as a healthy Heat team anymore, but a healthy Heat team is the best team in the East this year, no doubt.

We Magic fans can tell you about injuries. See: Grant Hill.

Me?

Lets look at this this way, If you could have a fantasy draft for starting a new team, Who would be your top ten. Talent alone doesnt make you the best player. Foremost, you want a winner, someone who isnt a distraction. The Best possible player. As of right now, Wade is not in my top ten because of injuries. Here it is. Age is not a factor

1. Tim Duncan

2. KG

3. Dwight Howard

4. Chris Paul

5. Lebron James

6. Deron Williams

7. Carmelo Anthony

8. Steve Nash

9. Kobe Bryant

10.Chauncy Billups

Wade has the ability to take a game over, but without the supporting cast, he is nothing

I hate basketball- but from what I've seen on ESPN

Lebron

Kobe

Garnett

Tim Duncan

Nash

Yao Ming

Howard

Marion

Novitski

Chris Paul

Derrek Roy? (the guy from portland, not the sabres)

Thats 11 right? Wade is better then Roy. However, Wade is more clutch in crunch time then maybe 10 of those 11 players (lebron is the only close enough equal)

So everyone agrees that Wade is having an off-year due to injuries, right?

I've watched about 75% of Miami's games (with Wade) and I think he looks worse than ever in his career. His shot is slowly coming back, but he lacks the explosiveness and intensity that made him a legend two years ago. It seems like he's extremely careless with the ball (4.5 TO/G) and isn't fluid within the offense.

That being said...

24.9 PPG

48% FG

75% FT (I believe ~80% in the past month)

7.0 APG

4.3 RPG

1.9 SPG

1.0 BPG

Aside from the turnovers, which will undoubtedly go down with each passing game, he's having what many players would consider a career year. He's top five in scoring with a higher FG% than the four ahead of him.

To say that there are ten players, even with his INJURY, that are better than him right now in the NBA is a joke. Sorry.

And yes, this is the first year that his team is suffering, but I don't see how that plays into the equation regarding his individual ability.

8-24 is not struggling, that is bonafide bad. He is strugglin, but i dont think its from his injury, he used to attack the basket almost every possesion, he is not doing that. I feel that he is having a mental issue

And if you think this is because of supporting cast, The 76ers have a better record, and please dont tell me that they have a better supporting cast.

Oh, I'm sorry. I think I wrongly implied by my response that I was really interested in pursuing this debate.

I can't name 10 current players better at falling to the floor after every shot than DWade. That's a skill few have mastered.
