March 11, 200818 yr hunting is legal, and allowed there unless he broke a state law he should sue them personally to trying to turn it into a public assault against his character for a protected right of the US I think he is handleing it the right way. Blowing them off. But them comparing what he does to what Vick did is assinine. He's holding his tongue alot better than I would.

Not sure if "husbanding" is the right word, but you are right. I grew up in the country in the Great White North (left there long before most here were even born) and we used to shoot groundhogs, fox, wild dogs, etc.., for the same reasons. Nusance animals that destroyed property, crops, and endangered people and pets. There was even a bounty on some species.
March 11, 200818 yr Boy, I can't wait for baseball season to start, then we hopefully don't have to deal with a two-page thread about an article written by the Palm Beach Post gossip columnist interviewing publicity hound Palm Beach attorney Barry Silver! Yes, the same Barry Silver that stood in the back of a Palm Beach County Democratic Executive Committee meeting with a sign demanding that the annual Democratic Party fundraiser, the Jefferson/Jackson Dinner have it's name changed because both men once owned slaves. The same Silver that created the publicity stunt of blocking Southern Blvd. in order to protest FPL. The same Barry Silver that couldn't cut it in the State House and has not been successful in all his other runs since! Puh-lease, this was a throw-away article by Lambiert, the same man that wrote the article about Marlins players at a strip club in Riviera Beach last year. The only reason anyone reads Lambiert (and my wife is an avid reader) is to find out who is "shtuping" who on "The Island," who is getting what in their multi-million dollar divorce, and who was "seen" around town (like the time my wife e-mailed him the tip that we were with Vanilla Ice at the checkout line of the Super Target on the corner of Lantana Road and US441!). Once baseball season starts, we can hopefully start "talking" baseball again . . . except for the inevitable 13 page thread bemoaning the fact that Loria is using too much orange on team logos and merchandise!

Amen to that

Amen to that I agree....way too much orange.
March 19, 200818 yr As a Texan that has a deer lease in the Texas Hill Country I can attest to the necessity of what Logan is doing. I hunt on 1,100 acres outside of Bandera Texas. I have hunted this property since 1997 and can tell you that the hog population explosion is a real problem that has profound effects on the native wildlife. The ranch is extremely thick with brush and trees and it is extremely difficult to walk through 90% of the place as a result. So, we hunt over feeders that draw the game out into an open area. Some folks have a problem with that and I understand. If it were possible to hunt this area any other way, I certainly would. But it is the way it is done here. Back in 1997 we used to go out on a hunt and it was quite normal to see 15-20 deer in any single morning or afternoon hunt. Now, we see maybe 2-4 deer. Hogs have predated our fawn crops in recent years. There have been numerous seasons of late where I went all season long without ever seeing a fawn. We shoot every single hog we can and it doesnt even make a dent in the population. The way Logan is hunting is probably the only way you can make a dent. I dont have the resources he does, so I cant do it that way. But if I did, I damn sure would. It would be the responsible thing to do for the native species. Logan knows he is right and that is exactly why he is so indignant. Good for him! Hook Em Horns! (funny I am defending an Aggy here!)
