MiamiMarlinsFan79
Have they confirmed which direction the stadium is going to be facing? If so, sweet view!
Puma
Kinda reminds me of the view of downtown Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park. A few miles away, but still a great view of the skyline. Should be nice.

SoFlaFish
Distances between the stadiums and the downtown skyline are not the same. Compare the pictures. The bottom one is a shot of Downtown Philadelphia I took from the outfield gates at Citizens Bank Park when I was there last year.

That's why I said it "kinda" reminds me of CBP, rather than saying "It is a 100% exact replica". The skyline is not right on top of the field like some parks, which led me to think it is "kinda" like CBP

Trey05Marlins
I know this may change when the park opens in 2011 but if it were open now you'd see about 25-30 cranes in the view of downtown

Admin
I think the rule (a rule that has been broken recently with the advent of domes and night games) is that home plat is supposed to face East-Northeast. Judging by the map, I think they would need to be cheating a little bit in order to achieve that view over the left field wall. It's extremely close though if they put the plate directly East. prinmemito
Yeah, the best view would be if home plate faced directly east.

While most parks have CF at east-northeast, there is no hard fast rule. Just found this: Rule 1.04: It is desirable that the line from home base through the pitchers plate to second base shall run East-Northeast. It's more of a guideline than a rule. Here are the orientations of the major league ballparks. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/stadium/ba...k_NSEW_NL.shtml http://www.baseball-almanac.com/stadium/ba...k_NSEW_AL.shtml A good number of them point straight east, some of them even point East-Southeast and Southeast. So I would say it's a pretty good possibility we get that view.
