Greatest hitter to ever wear a Marlins uniform?

Featured Replies

Greatest hitter of all time to wear a marlins jersey- Mike Piazza Smack dab in his prime.

Greatest hitter of all time IN a marlins jersey- Gary Sheffield.

Depends if you mean greatest player to even wear it, or greatest AS a Marlin... because I mean if its just anybody Im sure Luis Gonzo gets up there too... but my vote still goes to Sheffield.

We can't have a Greatest Marlins Hitter Ever thread without at least whispering the name of the all-time leader in pinch hits....Lenny Harris. True, he doesn't come close in terms of production when compared to Cabrera, Sheffield, or Piazza, but he was used in a completely different situation. There is some merit in that.

If Lenny Harris was a great hitter, he wouldn't have been a pinch hitter. That is how baseball works. Guys who aren't good enough to be regulars are platoons, guys who aren't good enough for that are pinch hitters.
