I hope not. I can't stand Griffey.

I'll bite... how can ANYONE not stand Griffey... the dude is the living embodiment of the game...

Not really.

I've never been a fan of his and he really pissed me off when he stared down Mckeon after he hit a home run after an intentional walk to get to him a few years ago.

That's what not getting shown up is all about.

Funny story with Griffey from the game last night.

Some guys were heckling him as soon as he got out there with the standard "Griffey, you suck!" shouts, but it didn't seem to bother him in the least bit. So they kept on for a few innings and then suddenly changed it to "Hey Griffey, your video games sucked!". At that point, Griffey broke out into laughter, turned around and gave the guys props for their heckle.

If there's a save opportunity and Gregg is pitching with Griffey at the plate, you know he's hitting 600.

well, I'm gonna defend Kevin Gregg, here.

B/c Gregg's problem is his control.

Gregg has allowed opponents to hit about .180 off of him, and he's allowed 1 HR, in 29 innings, I believe. As a matter of fact, that's why I tend to get a little more frustrated with Gregg's walks.

I'm gonna go out on a limb, and say Sunday against Badenhop...

I hope it's tomorrow against Olsen though. I'll be in attendance, most likely, tomorrow, after I take my SAT's. :banghead

Weeellll...It didn't happen Friday night. I'll be in my seat tonight. Radio blasting in my ears because cow bells can be so annoying. Sunday in 245. Then back to our regular seats Monday.

BTW... Anyone else get that 5 Free Pack yet? Instead of trading up our Sunday tickets we bought one for the next 5 Sunday home games and saved a bunch of $$$. And still have our regular tickets, too.

Class act. Some guys just know how to handle themselves. Morgan was pretty much the same way. He was actually giving the crowd the Captain Morgan pose a couple times.

I've heard some outstanding stories about Griffey and hecklers. He's awesome.

That said, save for 1997, he's never been the best player in the league, even though everyone wanted him to be.

Who's been better who didn't use steroids?

Did ARod and Manny use steroids?

I think it's only fair to use this argument in healthy Griffey seasons, and in Healthy Griffey seasons, Griffey was better than Manny... so, A-Rod is the real competition here

I think it's fair to use Manny's durability and Griffey's frailty when comparing them. If a guy can't stay healthy, he can't help you. That cannnot be ignored.

Manny nor A-Rod were as good as Griffey from 1989 to 1998, especially since they started in 93 and 94 respectively.

The statement was that, outside of 1997, Griffey was never the best player in the league.

I was saying that the argument can be made that he was the best player not using steroids for many of those years.

I'm obviously not saying that Griffey is better than A-Rod, who I think is the greatest ever.

The point I'm making though, is that nobody ever said Griffey was the best player in baseball when he went into his frail stage, and that's what (I thought) was being debated... basically a healthy Junior vs *Whoever* (in that span) as the best player in baseball...
