I've always thought it's the consecutive no hitters one. To break Vander Meer's record, a pitcher would have to throw 3 no hitters in a row.

That's definitely never happening again.

I could see the no hitter record get equalized ... maybe. I don't see how wanyone could ever equaling 56 straight.

Ripken's has got to be by far the hardest to beat.

It's the record that wasn;t even on the list, well they did talk about it, but Cy Young had 749 complete games.

Some of those records fail to translate into modern baseball. Of the "realistic" feats, Ripken's will never be topped.

Of the more mdern records that have been set, I can't see anyone breaking Rickey Henderson's season steal mark of 130 anytime soon. Ryan's records for most walks and strikeouts should be around for awhile too. Of course Ripkens' will take one tough SOB to break I think the current streak for consecutive games played is less than 500.

the best part about baseball is history and the numbers. We can sit and talk this numbers all day, but you can't for any other sport. It is crazy how baseball is all about history and numbers (EVERY number too)
