July 17, 200818 yr Did anyone watch the town hall forum on HBO tonight? Dave Winfield, Jim Palmer, (Pete Rose via satellite), and Bob Gibson had a lot to say. There was also an interesting segment with Jimmy Rollins (who Hank Aaron and Willie Mays teased relentlessly), Todd Jones and Evan Freaking Longoria -- who did alright for a 22-year-old totally out of his element. HBO continued the show on HBO.com after 10:30. I wanted to hear more from Aaron and Mays, so I logged on. It was the best part of the show, and it dragged on even longer because Mays was lively and had more stories to tell. When they wrapped the online after-show, the producer let Bob Costas (who is such an ass-kisser) know that the online segment was so intriguing that it would be made a show in itself to later be aired on HBO. The online feed was still going as Costas announced what was happening and that everyone needed to stay put so he could shoot the promo. Costas briefly left the stage, but little did he know that he had a hot mic. I heard him berate a crew member shortly before the feed cut out. After two hours of watching the ever-careful douche bag kiss the living legends' asses...it was a fitting ending for Costas. Mays and Aaron = awesome. Bob Costas = lame
July 17, 200818 yr Author What did he say to the crew member? It wasn't really what he said, but how he said it. He said something like, "Hold ONNNN, Nick!" He sounded really cranky and agitated after spending the last two hours talking to living legends. Life is so hard for him.
July 17, 200818 yr Costas just gave the little people a friggin reminder that in the real world they don't matter, thanks Bob for keeping people in thier places :cool
