July 23, 200817 yr ESPN is still good even if those polls are BS...did anyone see BBTN last night...its about time we get some recognition
July 23, 200817 yr Joe Sheehan of Baseball Prospectus thinks we'll finish 4th. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/base...x.html?bcnn=yes Not that I care.
July 23, 200817 yr Joe Sheehan of Baseball Prospectus thinks we'll finish 4th. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/base...x.html?bcnn=yes Not that I care. stupid article. I know this isn't usually how a team wins, but the record says how they are doing. And the braves are going to sell for hte first time in ages and still finish in front? bs.

July 23, 200817 yr i say its going to go down till the last day when we face the mets and whoever takes the series (us) will take the East
July 23, 200817 yr We need a tacked thread that contains all links to articles that say we will lose 100+ games or stuff like this so that when the season is over we can email all the writers and make them eat crow.
July 23, 200817 yr lol everyone thought we were going to finish dead last behind the nats or 4th by a hair
July 23, 200817 yr I honestly like that no one thinks we'll win it. However, what I do hate is when everybody jumps on the band wagon and starts claiming there believed in us since July. :banghead
July 23, 200817 yr The only one that believes in us in the media is Orestes Destrada because he was a Marlin
July 23, 200817 yr it has nothing to do with espn... it has to do with people around the country hasn't seen this team play, that and all the transplanted new york and philadelphia fans... who cares That, and when they did get the oppertunity to see our All-Stars, we went 2-7 and committed all 4 errors made by the NL. Fooled them all, we did, the'll never see us coming *cue JAWS theme music* We will win the World series ending with Dan Uggla making a routine play at 2B in Yankee Stadium. I'm calling it. Eh, I'm kinda rooting for a walk off home run in classic Marlins fashion, but I'll take that. I wouldn't mind walking off in the 7th game against the Cubs to get there, though.

July 23, 200817 yr Call me crazy, but I called a Marlins Rays world series at the end of last season....lol

Awww, but I like seeing the look on their fans faces when they fail again...and this 100 year mark would be great...not only that, but imagine the rivalry it would further enrage. I love a good rivalry.
July 23, 200817 yr Call me crazy, but I called a Marlins Rays world series at the end of last season....lol I called that back in May, too. Good call on being a year ahead, though.
July 23, 200817 yr I say Marlins Tigers World Series D-Train and Miggy are going to meet their former team and we win in 6 (I picked this at the beginning of the season and im going to stick with it)
July 23, 200817 yr Author I knew from the beginning of the season we were gunna make the playoffs. My grandfather and I talk about baseball a lot and he never seems to be wrong. He knows a lot about baseball, he played AA ball for a while when he first moved to the States from Cuba. He said that this is one of the best Marlins teams we will have. We all know this is top 3 or top 4.
July 23, 200817 yr It's good to be the underdog, this way they won't see it coming. The Marlins are such a bad team that, you know, we haven't done much in our short history. Just two World Series wins and one against the Yankees? Yup, the Yankees. Hmmm, I think I've heard of that team before. *shrugs*
July 23, 200817 yr First of all, every Marlins victory is a slap in the face of baseball analysts, professional squawkers and general all-around know-it-alls who belittled, ridiculed and wrote off the $22 million Marlins as sure to be the worst team in baseball. So even now while ESPN and others are forced to cover the team, it's begrudgingly and generally with as little effort as possible. And this rubs off on viewers nationwide. When you combine that with mega-baseball markets like NYC and Philly, the outcome is predictable and doesn't bother me at all. It'll be interesting to see if the poll is repeated in the weeks ahead and if we continue to do well how may converts come over from the dark side to to join us in our fight for truth, justice and the American way. :brigginbounce Lol, being a Marlin fan isn't just a choice, it's a patriotic duty. :notworthy
