Post Your Proposed Trade Deadline Deals Here

Featured Replies

With all the trade rumors and "proposed" trades floating around, I decided to create a thread for trade proposals.

Let's get this thread started with a few trade proposals I have created. Just want to get your thought on them.

Trade Proposal #1

Florida Marlins Get:

RP John Grabow

C Ryan Doumit

Pittsburgh Pirates Get:

RP Taylor Tankersley

SP Rick VandenHurk

SP Burke Badenhop

C Mike Rabelo

Reasoning: Based upon all the rumors, the Pittsburgh Pirates are selling all players who can bring back a reasonable return. Over the past few months, it has become quite evident the Marlins need a catcher and a reliable veteran left-handed reliever in the bullpen. This trade accomplishes all the above. The Marlins acquire a cheap, underrated left-hander in John Grabow who has decent stuff and nice control. Ryan Doumit would be a significant upgrade at catcher for the Marlins and would remain under the Marlins' control for the next two seasons. For the Pirates, they acquire three young arms with major league experience and would remain cheap for them for the next four seasons. With some seasoning in the minors, Tankersley could replace Grabow down the road and VandenHurk and Badenhop could round out the starting staff for the Pirates in the future.

Trade Proposal #2

Florida Marlins Get:

SP Tim Redding

Washington Nationals Get:

1B Mike Jacobs

P Jacob Marceaux

Reasoning: The Marlins need to add a reliable, veteran starter to the rotation to help fortify the starting staff. Thus far, Tim Redding has been a very effective starter as he has thrown strikes consistently and can eat innings. Adding him to the rotation would serve as both a significant boost and makes Mark Hendrickson expendable. With Mike Jacobs gone, the Marlins would finally be able to call up Dallas McPherson to play 3B and move Jorge Cantu to 1B, where he looked quite comfortable during Interleague play. For the Nationals, all three 1B on the roster are on the disabled list. They need to add a young, lefty power bat to the lineup to compliment Ryan Zimmerman. Mike Jacobs would solve both problems for the Nationals. Jacobs would remain under the Nationals control for two more seasons, so it would be a cost-efficient move. The Nationals also get a nice minor league pitcher to add their system.

Marlins get: Brian Fuentes

Rockies Get: Rick VandenHurk, Mike Jacobs, Daniel Barone, Bret Sinkbol

Why would the Rockies want Mike Jacobs? They have Todd Helton under contract for the next three seasons. Just remembered; Helton is on the disabled list. Still, they don't need Jacobs. While Helton has been out, the Rockies have moved Garret Atkins to first and placed top prospect Ian Stewart at 3B. Been working out well for them.

ok, get rid of Jacobs in that trade and put in another pitcher or just a 1st rounder

Marlins get: Dallas McPherson

Albuquerque gets: someone

Mike Jacobs gets: benched

Nice little 3 way trade there

sounds good to me :thumbup

Doumit would be awesome, but why in the hell would the Pirates trade him? oh yea...they won't!

Who knows? The Pirates front office is obviously clueless after pulling the trigger on that trade yesterday. Anything is possible with them.

Where would you put Redding?

As of (hopefully) next week:

Nolasco

Olsen

Volstud

Sanchez

Johnson

and Miller coming back eventually...so who do you take out for Redding?

Yeah, let's trade two guys on the DL and a couple of questionables for first rate talent. There you go.

Someone's been spending too much time trading on their Playstation.
