July 30, 200817 yr Ahhhhh, feels good to be back after that ban (for I dont know why but that the past). So basically they traded Andrus and Salty for Kotchman and a nice releiver prospect? Braves lose.
July 30, 200817 yr Mark Teixiera is a career .269 hitter, .861 .OPS player on the road. Now look...Teixiera is an upgrade for the Angels; he definitely provides more power for their lineup, which was their main need (b/c as Buster Olney has said...they rank 19th in runs, 22nd in slugging). However, Mark Teixiera is just another case of a player who's had his career #'s inflated b/c he played in a great home ballpark (in Texas). The Braves get Kotchman; a 25 year old 1B, who has played a part in the Angels success this year...a guy who will also stay with the Braves long-term. They also get 24 year old reliever Steven Marek. A guy who has been developed by the Angels, and posted the best ERA in their organization (2.38, in A ball) in 2006. This year he has been converted to a reliever, and has held opponents to a .223 average in AA, with 57 K's in 46.2 innings. It's a lot better than losing Teixiera for nothing...which there was a good chance of happening in a couple months, had they not traded him. BTW, it amazes me how people overrate Francisco Rodriguez. It's not difficult to rack up saves, when you lead the league in save opportunities...BY A LOT. There's nothing about his stats that scream "dominance," nor is there anything about his stats (the last 2 years, for that matter) that scream he's worth 15 million dollars this offseason (which he will probably be asking for).

Um, The Ballpark in Arlington isn't really a hitter's park. It's pretty neutral, actually.

Heck, just this year... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/parkfa...amp;season=2008 http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor?season=2008 What stats do you have Rab? EDIT: The only year where the # seems neutral is 2007 (and '01, as well).
July 30, 200817 yr Hey, I don't care about the Angels. Remember all the talk about Detroit at the beginning of the season? They were practically given the WS before the season started. The Fish is the team everyone is afraid of. I have to worry about the Mutts tonight. I can't worry about Angels till the Final series of the season. Beinfest will lead us to the Promised land. :angel After completing nearly three quarters of the season the Angels have been seen as the team to be reckoned with, the Tigers never proved anything they were just the paper Tigers. Then and now.

Actually, as per Sportscenter - In his last 157 games before the trade (All with the Braves) He hit 37 homers and drove in over 100. I would have to say that the #'s were him, not the ballpark.
