This is an interesting point, but it's tough to outright say that Willingham won't produce for the rest of the season. The team is DEFINITELY better served switching the lineup around though. I see it as something like this: Hanley - Our best leadoff hitter and the team's catalysts, no brainer Willingham - Despite the low BA, still has a good eye and can still provide quality #2 at-bats without having to face as many RISP opportunities. Hermida - Hot since the ASB and we have to take advantage of that, also, I believe he'll sustain this the rest of the year, if not improve upon it Cantu - Probably our best suited cleanup hitter at the moment, could be switched with Hermida in this lineup Uggla - Coming out of his slump (likely anyways) and seems to hit from the 5th spot the bottom four can be whoever's hottest or matches up best of: Baker, Ross, Jacobs and the pitcher Also, in regards to McDallas, we are much better served bringing him up in a starting capacity because if Brett Carrol is any indication, only being allowed to hit 1-2 times a week does not do well for someone that has little experience in the role.

Give Beinfest credit for being bold, but **** Loria.

August 12, 200818 yr I wouldnt be shocked to see Holliday clear waivers to us, as I doubt any team in the NL West would claim him as a deal would not get worked out and technically we are the weakest non-NL west team in the playoff race, record wise, and it is doubtful anyone out of the race would claim him. Just saying.

Just saying. Anyone with a shot at the playoffs would claim him immediately just to keep him from going to another playoff contender. He wouldn't make it past LA or Arizona even with their new found outfield depth.

Best part is that Boston had no problem giving up that money, so you can't fault the FO for being intelligent.

I'm not really mad at Loria for it, but I'm not going to act like he did something out of the ordinary here or was doing us some big favor. He gets credit for signing Delgado, or Pudge. Not this trade that never happened.
