August 13, 200817 yr I still don't understand why the Hammer is the "clean up hitter". The team desperately needs to move someone else into the number 4 spot. I don't even understand why he's still playing! Especially as good as Gonzo played in NY, he should be getting these starts agaisnt RHP.

August 13, 200817 yr Jake is the hottest hitter, making him our current clean up hitter, I do not know why this was posted AFTER the lineup for today's game was announced and u saw Jake was batting clean up
August 13, 200817 yr And hear we go again Haha. Yeah man, the cleanup thing started with everyone wanted Jake out of the spot.
August 13, 200817 yr lol, but u always have to put the hottest hitter in the cleanup spot, and the hottest player on the team is Jacobs.
August 13, 200817 yr yup this is how it went befor willingham got injured every 1 wanted him then he got hurt people wanted Uggla cuz he was on a tear then jake went on a tear then they both sucked so we wanted cantu they every 1 sucked except for cody and now people want jake back beacuase hes hot Look Jakes hot and every 1 wants him again we really dont have a cleanup man because no 1 can hit with RISP except for Cantu
August 13, 200817 yr Author Well, I didn't notice the line up today. I got in late, and this was a subject that I thought of earlier today. I should have checked, but when I saw that the hammer was playing, iI just assumed he was hitting clean up. My main point (which I didn't make clear) is why is Gonzo not playing these games?
August 13, 200817 yr The guy, in his past 74 PA, is hitting .286/.378/.413 Bad SLG? Yeah. But he has a monster monster OBP. And I mean, if it's a recent thing people are bugging about, he's hitting .300 in his past three games with a .364 OBP. Yes, his back sucking his power sucks but that doesn't mean he's horrible at the plate now. Now he's "only" an OBP machine that completely works over the pitcher. Why is he getting so much hate.

Because some one who plays his position has done much better as of late. Thats my main problem. Gonzo should get these starts against RHP. You'd think he deserved them after getting those 5 or 6 hits in NY.
