October 8, 200817 yr Why do they call these things debates?...debates? really?... give me a break... I have never felt this helpless before...(must be because I wasn't old enough to vote)
October 8, 200817 yr I remember four years ago (especially on this site) how everyone was talking about John Kerry ahead in the polls and that don't bother Kerry will win, look how that turned out. I am still waiting for election day when it really counts. I believe Barrack Hussein Obama mentioned 95% tax cuts. Interesting, how is he going to pay for all the programs with only 5% contributing? (please correct me if I am wrong but I do believe he said that 95%) Is that an alternative universe? Kerry was never significantly ahead and nobody ever said he was a shoe in to win. Bush actually took a huge lead in September following his convention that came back down after his dismissal performance in the first debate.
October 8, 200817 yr It's less about anything McCain does than so much of the fact that there is no rational argument for why he should be president unless the person listening likes Pres. Bush. And these days, not many do. Niether one of them can really make a concrete distinction about where they can or will do something significantly different enough to actually save anything. Obama simply has the built in advantage of a perception of being different from the status quo. That said, I think Obama did present himself much much better than McCain (not that that's saying much), but I think if he did have to face a competent counterargument from a Libertarian that he would be exposed as also being part of the problem. The illusion of him as a change agent would dissapear.
October 9, 200817 yr All I can say is that McCain walks like the old senile guy that lives in my building. :lol I've been hearing a lot of that today.
