Jose Ceda, the player who we acquired for Gregg, could be in the Big Leagues come opening day. This is quite surprising, I would've thought we were going to give him more time in the minors, Ceda has only pitched 30 innings above A ball.

"If [Ceda] is not ready right away [in Spring Training], we hope he is soon," Beinfest said. "I'm not sure what soon is, whether one month, two months. But based on what he did in Double-A, where he finished up last year, he can come along quickly."

Brett Carrol was hit in the hand in the Dominican League and suffered a broken hand, but he should be ready for spring training.

Cameron Maybin seems likely to be our starting CF on opening day as he is said to be "penciled in as the CF"-Joe Frisaro.

Where'd this info come from, especially about Ceda?

I'm thinking from a interview Beinfest had last Saturday on 790 The Ticket "Winter Meetings Special". If I remember correctly, he said does exact words.

I'm just wondering for both reliability, and also the fact that nothing was quoted - so, unless he's a reporter and he came up with this himself, he should give credit to his sources.

Everything was on FloridaMarlins.com the Brett Carrol and Maybin information was on the Brett Carrol article and the Ceda information was on the front page where they talk about us making a run at Pudge. I didn't give credit to my sources because I didn't have time to do so, I just wanted to put the information out there for you guys.

What I'm really interested in hearing is who we are going to trade Maybin and Ceda for in three years.
