WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Senator Ted Kennedy, D-Massachusetts, collapsed Tuesday afternoon during a luncheon held for President Barack Obama in the Capitol's Statuary Hall, a senator told CNN's Dana Bash.

 

Paramedics were called to the scene at 2:35 p.m. ET.

Apparently Byrd falling ill was a misguided rumor so disregard that part.

Only because of his name.. Kennedy in RI/MA/NY gets you way to far. It is almost annoying to live in these places and see what that name can do for you.

The "Chappaquiddick incident" refers to the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, a former campaign worker for the assassinated U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy of New York.

 

In July 1969, Kopechne's dead body was discovered inside an overturned car belonging to Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy of Massachusetts under water in a tidal channel on Chappaquiddick Island, Massachusetts.

 

The incident became a national scandal, and may have affected the Senator's decision not to run for President in 1972.

Good thing Obama was there waiting to raise him from the dead if Kennedy had passed on.
