February 2, 200917 yr For those interested in seeing Marlins' players or Pudge in the Caribbean Series which starts today, none will be there. In the case of Marlins' players eligible to play all published reports say the same thing, contractural obligations to the Marlins preclude them from playing (read, FanFest appearance and associated media, PR and fan functions). As for Pudge, he is no longer on the Ponce roster for whatever reason, but as I look at his stats in the PWL, while he performed well, it was in very limited appearances, only 35 at bats. I assume he played for a week or so and that was it. Nonetheless, "live" baseball starts tonight on MLB Network at 5pm, Licey vs Ponce, and another game later in the evening.

Pudge had family obligations, therefore he wasn't able to go to Mexico. Pudge only played the post-season and a few games prior of the regular season but his team was eliminated and he joined Ponce as reinforcement for the semi-final and the final
February 8, 200917 yr There is a Marlins prganization player that played in the Carribean series...Andy Gonzalez who was just signed by the Marlins plays for Ponce. BTW he went 3-3 in the last game of the series. he was PRBL batting champ this season
