February 5, 200917 yr I will take the day off from work to be there. This is a landmark decision for MLB, baseball fans in south Fl., and the Marlins. If we don't get the votes needed I wouldn't blame the team for moving. This negotiation should have been done long before MLB decided to put a team in Florida. They should have never sold it to Huzienga who already owned the football team. You need owners that also have a passion for baseball like Loria does. Look at Baltimore, their owner only care about how much money he makes and could care less if his team wins. If we lose the vote this will be the last straw for MLB and they will help the marlins move to San Antonio, Portland, or Charlotte (this has been hinted by Dupuy many times).
