March 16, 200917 yr - RVH, Tucker and Tank + Meyer and Kensing RHP - Lindstrom, Proctor, Nunez, DLC, Kensing LHP - Pinto, Meyer Tucker, Ceda, RVH, Badenhop, etc. waiting Not a bad pen. Oh, and Badenhop may have played himself into strong consideration. The problem is if you keep 2 lefties, there are only 5 spots for righties. Lindstrom, Proctor and Nunez are locks. And I believe DLC and Kensing are out of options, so they have advantages for making the team out of the gate. So it'll probably be those 5 unless they all of a sudden are really down on either DLC or Kensing (which would be quite surprising). Kensing is well past options, and was eligible for arbitration. He is a lock. They really like him. DLC is out of options and is just way to good to DFA. He will either be traded, or the Marlins will keep him in the bullpen all year and hope he figures it out. That's the pen. Not much competition left since Delgado is out of the picture, and Kroenke is seemingly getting shelled. But we'll see. The minors will basically shape up like this (parenthesis not on 40 man) AAA - Tucker, Vanden Hurk, Badenhop, Tank, Trahern, C. Martinez (Sinkbiel, Calero, Owens, Mobley, Doolittle, Marceaux) AA - Leroux, Wood, H. Garcia (Ceda, Thompson, West, G. Taylor, Winters, Allison) If 1/3rd of these guys pan out, the MLB staff is going to get real nasty real fast.
April 5, 200917 yr The Mariners outrighted Delgado today. I hate to do the whole :banghead thing But if they outrighted him, it means he cleared waivers. Meaning that if we waived him at the end of ST, instead of when we did, he's liking in our minor leagues. I mean, it's not really a big deal. In the grand scheme of our bullpen, I mean, he's easily expendable. It just adds to the whole Lou thing of our FO making a lot of "wait, why?" kinda moves that we lose somebody for nothing for really no reason.
April 5, 200917 yr Am I wrong or aren't the marlins now in a better position with virtually all teams rosters frozen, to slide him into the minors? did DLC make the Padres too?
April 5, 200917 yr Am I wrong or aren't the marlins now in a better position with virtually all teams rosters frozen, to slide him into the minors? did DLC make the Padres too? Cruz is going to make the Padres. And what are you talking about the Marlins in a better position to slide someone into the minors? We already released Delgado, but if we released him yesterday, he would have cleared as he just did for the Mariners and we could have kept him in AAA all year. We have 2 open 40 man roster slots. Not a problem. This is flat out shoddy front office work, even if it doesn't really effect the bottom line to much. We don't maximize value even when it's very easy to do.
April 6, 200917 yr they never gave delgado a chance man i hate when the team does this sh*t Only 25 guys (12 pitchers) per team. Stop making a big deal about nothing. Truth. Our system is overflowing with talent. Other teams wish they had this problem.
