May 17, 200917 yr rookies this year really haven't been impressive. none have made an immediate impact like longoria, soto, votto, volquez, bruce, jurrjens did last season. so far the best rookie in my opinion has been elvis andrus. what do you guys think of the rookies and do you think price and wieters make impacts when they get called up?

Matt Wieters, Travis Snider, Dexter Fowler, Trever Cahill, Colby Rasmus, Jon Niese, have all done pretty well this season as rookies.

May 17, 200917 yr Orioles just called up Nolan Reimold. Watch out for this dude. He had a 1.228 OPS in AAA.
May 17, 200917 yr Author i wonder if the brewers plan on ever calling escobar up. he's supposed to be very good defensively at shortstop and is being compared to ozzie smith.
May 17, 200917 yr If Maybin doesn't get called up again this season and starts next, is he still eligible for ROTY next year?
May 17, 200917 yr Author If Maybin doesn't get called up again this season and starts next, is he still eligible for ROTY next year? nope. he exceeded 130 at-bats this season which means next season he won't qualify as a rookie
May 18, 200917 yr It is too early to write off the 2009 rookie class, but yeah my socks haven't been knocked off yet. Another guy not mentioned yet who has been solid so far/looks like he'll stick and definitely bears watching is Rick Porcello over in Detroit.
