May 19, 200917 yr Should be interesting to see who wins the Griffin sweepstakes. I'm not a Kings fan by any means but I'm hoping they get the #1 pick and draft him. I use to love watching the Kings playoff games. Kevin Martin needs all the help he can get.
May 19, 200917 yr Blake Griffin looks like Michael Beasley version 2.0, only a better rebounder. Doesn't have Center size, best case scenario he becomes Carlos Boozer, worst case scenario he becomes Michael Beasley
May 19, 200917 yr Blake Griffin looks like Michael Beasley version 2.0, only a better rebounder. Doesn't have Center size, best case scenario he becomes Carlos Boozer, worst case scenario he becomes Michael Beasley Not really. Beasley has way more range. Griffin is more post-up. He reminds me more of a cross between Elton Brand and Beasley. Maybe something like Zach Randolph with less shooting/more posting (without the character issues).

Maybe something like Zach Randolph with less shooting/more posting (without the character issues). just seems that he may be too "balls to the walls", an injury prone player waiting to happen. And Elton Brand has a lot more upper body bulk, Griffin has the Michael Beasley build with true NBA toughness, but he just doesn't seem like a fit in the NBA, due to bad ball handling I have seen when he posts up, tends to lose the ball. He also is just a blocker, he has a tough time guarding a guy inside after a spin move, and Griffin also got himself into foul trouble quite a bit in college. Remember, Oklahoma to the NBA is a huge step for many of these players. I'll go out on a limb and say the two best players coming out of this years draft are Thabeet and Lawson, Lawson I feel will be the best player in this draft. I understand Thabeet has only a little bit of experience playing basketball as a whole, so to see his game at this level already, I think he could improve his game to an entire new level with NBA coaches and mentors around him. He's got NBA center size, and he looks like a cross breed between Yao and Dwight Howard. He's got Yao in the fact that he is a skinny guy (for his size) that can post up and get his way into the paint, and once he gets there, he becomes Dwight Howard, a guy who loves to dunk when he gets in. I could see Thabeet as a 20 ppg, 12 rpg player. Lawson is just a great all around guy. He can shoot, he is one hell of a passer, and he plays some of the best lockdown defense I have ever seen in college. Not much to say, his NCAA tourney stats and his season play speak for itself.
May 20, 200917 yr Author Clippers get the #1 overall pick. Scary to think a team with Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Marcus Camby, Chris Kaman and Zach Randolph could add Blake Griffin to their roster.
May 20, 200917 yr it's a conspiracy i tell you. the NBA screws the kings again. but it doesn't really matter because with the makeup of the team we'll have another opportunity next season to draft John Wall with the 1st. what do you guys think with tyreke evans as the #4 pick since the kings starting point guard is udrih.

Kings have 3 options with this pick most likely (assuming Rubio, Griffin, and Thabeet are taken) They can take the dominant lesser known PF in Jordan Hill out of Arizona, PG Ty Lawson, dominant when healthy, but is an injury risk, or go out on a limb and take Stephan Curry to be your SG, a pure scorer. I'm going to say that the Kings go crazy and take Curry, just because he will easily be a fan favorite, and iwll come in immediately and become a scoring beast.
May 20, 200917 yr If the Thunder can get Griffin, Hill, or Thabeet to add wih Durant, Green and Westbrook, they will be a very good team in time.

LOL...That team isn't really that scary. Griffin and Gordon could one day be a nice 1-2 combo, but next year, the Clippers are likely to be right back in the lottery.

He improved his passing abilities last season, and would add anther scorer. If you see, Curry is currently listed at PG/SG. Getting Curry would also give the Kings more flexibility when it comes to trade talks concerning K-Mart, who could be traded to add some cap space for the 2010 free agents.

They have the talent to have a quick turnaround. A big reason they where so horrible this season was all the injuries they had. Baron Davis is a top 10 PG, Eric Gordon made a strong case for ROTY and Al Thornton has been very good since entering the league. Zach Randolph is a team cancer but you can't argue with the numbers he puts up every year. Chris Kaman is a quality big man and Marcus Camby is still one of the better rebounders/shot blockers in the league despite his age. Outside of the Lakers, the Pacific division is weak. You put Blake Griffin on that team and get rid of either Randolph of Camby because I can't see them having two bench players making over 24 million and I think they can sneak into the playoffs as a 7th or 8th seed next season.

May 20, 200917 yr Phoenix is on a downhill fall, i could easily see the Clippers pushing for the 7 or 8 spot next season and making some noise in the playoffs (first round that is)
