  1. Goddamnit I knew I should have checked our site. Oh well. Yeah, our D-line is stacked at the ends. Pierre-Paul is a 5-star, Ryne Giddins was the #3 DE recruit in the nation IIRC, and of course Selvie. Selvie will be gone next year but the rest of these guys will easily fill his shoes, while Selvie goes to terrorize the NFL. What's gonna suck is losing Nate Allen.
  2. USF > FSU today like XFD > than any other phrase in this thread. Clearly. XFD Just wondering though, who's the guy on the highlights who sacked Ponder like 2 times? I just assumed it was Selvie, but apparently not. Pierre-Paul? 5-star JUCO recruit.
  3. I never said that our o-line is crap, so stop putting words in my mouth, and again, Ponder would not have been sacked five times if he was 100%. I guess you have already seemed to have convinced yourself that USF is a better team than FSU, and you probably also think that Miami (who got beat by 24 today) is a better team, and Jacksonville State is almost on-par with FSU. You keep telling yourself that. Not every score on a sheet of paper is that plain and simple. If only the best teams won every game, you guys might have not won today, Appalachian State wouldn't have defeated Michigan, etc. This is pretty much hilarious right here. But first, read my post, please, I mentioned BYU A TON... You guys TROUNCED BYU, and then lost to us. I don't want to hear excuse about chop blocks, we had them called on us too, on plays that weren't even chop blocks... apparently cut blocking is chop blocking now. Miami is at least as good as FSU, but very likely better. Miami lost today because the rain killed their passing game, much like USF's defense killed your running game. Jax State could very well be on par with FSU if that sieve defense keeps going the way it has. Fact of the matter is, USF has convincingly won every game on their schedule (whether you wanted to believe this win was or wasn't, but that silence in Doak for most of the game speaks louder than I can)... FSU lost to Miami, squeaked by JSU (wtf is even up with that) and blew up an overrated BYU team that benefited from Oklahoma losing their MVP. And, regarding your excuse about your backup QB being a huge drop off from Ponder, guess what, that's a weakness for your team, it makes you worse. Another check in the "FSU is worse than USF in this aspect" column. So, as it stands... USF has better QB depth. USF has a better defense. USF has a better running game. I'll give FSU passing, but really, red-shirt freshman, in a hostile environment, first start... that's only going to get better for us. And I guess maybe Special Teams, our kicker missed 2 FG, yours only missed 1. But, wait... you're gonna refute those... USF can't have a better defense. USF can't have a better running game (except that, you know, we outrushed you) and, well, our QB depth, that just doesn't count. Please, enlighten me, explain to me WHY FSU is better than USF. Why, through 4 quarters, did FSU's offensive line not sustain a single drive and finish, when they did it numerous times this season? Why could FSU's running backs seemingly not gain a single yard? Why are these factors not indicative of who the better team is? You're ignoring that you guys had plenty of opportunities and literally failed on all but one. And, regarding the turnovers... say what you will, but at least two of those were forced by great defensive plays... reaching in and punching the balls out. You're looking down on USF because they aren't a tenured team, but ignoring the fact that they've been building up for years now. We've beaten ranked Kansas, Auburn, WVU, and Louisville teams. We're not FAU or FIU anymore, we're a legitimate player in this state. Maybe not a national title power, but definitely a team that nobody schedules as a cakewalk. All week Bowden talked about how he wasn't looking forward to playing USF, but, he's just senile and "pretending" to be the coach... well, that senile old man was right. Please, can you stop being so hypocritical. You start out your post by saying that my post was hilarious, and then you go on to say that Jacksonville State could be on-par with FSU. As for "USF has convincingly won every game on their schedule", you guys have convincingly defeated Wofford, Western Kentucky, and Charleston Southern. Way to go. You might be the only one though that calls a ten point win a "convincing" win, when FSU could have tied up the game on that drive in the end where Ponder "fumbled" the ball. Regarding the QBs, I never said that Daniels was better than Manuel. I said that Daniels is closer to Grothe than Manuel is to Ponder (mainly because Ponder is a better QB than Grothe, when 100%.) You don't have better QB depth, as our #1 is better than your #1, and our #2 is unproven. For all we know he could be just as good as Daniels. Your defense is better than the Noles' mainly because our pass defense is no better than my former high school's, but our offense is still much better (both running and passing.) We have a very good running game, but thanks to some mistakes and a good performance by the USF d-line (see, I'm giving you guys credit), it didn't show. USF: Better run defense, better pass defense. FSU: Better run offense, better pass offense, better special teams. FSU is just as good, if not better, and if we played again, I would still take FSU. I wouldn't say it would be a blowout again because USF played better than I thought they would, but I would still take the Noles. Florida State barely manages a score at home against USF. They manage 19 points against JACKSONVILLE STATE. Their offense is so much better. Lol @ you citing the schedule before this game. Yeah we played crappy teams, and we creamed them. You played a crappy team and almost lost. You played a good team and got beat, at home. You have ONE good win in your bags, 2 bad losses at home, and 1 horribly weak win. And XFD I can't believe you think FSU's run offense is better than USF's. Mike Ford is better than any back you have, by far. Plancher is at least as good as your best back, or almost. And Daniels is a way way way way WAAAAY better runner than Ponder. Want evidence of all this? Look no further than this game. Oh but that's right you're ignoring it because it means nothing. Yeah Florida State is so much better than that team that completely shut them down in their place. PS - The turnover point I was making is that we turned it over twice. Meaning the net was only -2 for you guys. And in regard to your QB running game point, you really think a healthy Ponder would have been able to some how get around defensive players in his backfield and no holes way better than his running backs could? Really? Now you're just being blinded with stubborn homerism. Florida State has history so they're better than USF. You keep telling yourself that.
  4. Lol @ Fish Dynasty. FSU had 4 turnovers, but USF had 2 turnovers. So your whole "We turned it over SOO MANY TIMES" argument seems a lot less significant than if they simply turned it over twice. You're going to cite "inexperience" as an excuse for losing, when USF has a redshirt freshman QB starting his first game of his collegiate career, on the road, in a hostile environment, against a heavily talented and favorited team? FSU is a very young team but USF is pretty young too. And I'm not sure why you think that a healthy Ponder (a quarterback) is going to make a significant difference in their running game when their RUNNING backs, guys whose primary purpose is to run the ball, can't even get past the line of scrimmage. But hey, let's just fall back on the ol' security blanket and blame the referees. Yeah, blame them for not overturning a call that there was clearly not conclusive evidence to overturn. Was it clear that it was a fumble? No. Was it clear that his arm was moving forward. No, just as much as the last no. But keep riding that defense force train and having to justify getting beat by a team you simply underestimated and didn't realize was so good. Two home losses now for a team that's supposedly better than the team that just beat them. Also, here's Bobby Bowden being quoted after the game. ''They whupped us,'' said FSU coach Bobby Bowden, who talked all week about not being eager to play South Florida for the first time. ''They're a lot better than I thought." Deal with it.
  5. What's wrong with someone being back in the top 25 when you beat the #7 team in the nation at their house by 26? I also feel bad for Grothe. I would have rather seen him on the field for this weekend's game. Now I think this has a chance at being a blowout. Yeah, that's because BJ Daniels kicks ass. I too would have rather not seen Daniels if I were an FSUfag.
  6. What a miserable game by my Noles. This is not even close to the same team that beat BYU last weekend. Four turnovers, including one in your own Red Zone, with the game on the line? What the hell, guys? Probably had something to do with USF being better than you. They didn't just give it away. USF made plays. They won the battle up-front on both sides. Deal with it, stop making excuses.
  7. Forte is too much of a risk---LT wins, hands down. My opinion, 1200 yards, 7 tds's out of forte, hardly worth the number two overall. Maybe that's why I picked up Brees 3 overall in a 10 team league, after AP and MJD were gone. I prefer to pick in the 9th or 10th slot though. LT over Forte? Are you serious? WHAT?!!? I hate to be critical, but I think you have a lot of overrated players, PWG. Anyways...this is mine (and I don't think it's too good right now, either) QB-Drew Brees (NO) RB-Pierre Thomas (NO) RB-Marshawn Lynch (BUF) Flex-Anthony Gonzalez (IND) WR-Andre Johnson (HOU) WR-Marques Colston (NO) TE-Jeremy Shockey (NO) D/ST-Vikings K-John Carney (NO) Bench QB-Donovan McNabb (PHI) RB-Cedric Benson (CIN) RB-Fred Jackson (BUF) WR-Kevin Walter (HOU) WR-Donnie Avery (STL) D/ST-Chargers Basically, I built my team around Drew Brees after taking him in the 2nd round. I wish I could've gotten Reggie Bush, but he was taken a couple of picks before I was about to take him. I hate having a guy like Pierre Thomas, and not having his complimentary back (hence the reason I took Fred Jackson to compliment Lynch...Jackson will also be a starter for 3 weeks, at least, so that works out well). It's not a great team, but it's not bad, and I have options to make trades. (hoping to get good value for McNabb later on in the year) I'm also thinking about trading the Vikings D/ST, since I got my sleeper D/ST in the Chargers. My biggest whatever pick was my tight end. I'm not big on Shockey, but I took a chance, since my team was already looking NO oriented, anyways. I figure everytime Brees throws a TD, I'll not only get points for his TD's, but from the guys who caught them, as well. Considering, they're one of the best offenses in the NFL, I don't think it's a bad deal. If Shockey doesn't pan out, whatever. Guys like Shiancoe are free agents. There are a lot of solid tight ends this year, it seems. You're gonna be screwed when the Saints have a bye week. XD Anyway. Same league as PWG. 1. DeAngelo Williams RB 2. Phillip Rivers QB 3. Brian Westbrook RB 4. Roy Williams WR 5. Santana Moss WR 6. Jamal Lewis RB 7. Ted Ginn Jr. WR 8. Dolphins DST 9. Kellan Winslow TE 10. Leon Washington RB 11. Percy Harvin WR 12. Chad Pennington QB 13. Earl Bennett WR 14. Neil Rackers K
  8. XFD @ people getting trolled by "HanleySucks". I can guess from his name he only joined here to troll, so the best bet would be to ban him.
  9. Since the "no" has been given, I will blindly hope and proclaim how much I'd splooge if we got Hoffman.
  10. Agree 100% with the Phillies fans as #1, but the fact that he says he's a Mets fan and won't include them on the list hurts the whole thing. I also agree about the Yankees in particular. Every one of their fans, when they lose a game, or you are a Marlins fan and mention the 03 World Series, start screaming "27 CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! WOOOO!!!" in the most retarded way. Saw this again when I was at a Rays game a month ago, after the Yankees got owned. And they'll be like 17 years old and they started watching baseball in like 1998 or something.
  11. XFD he goes "not based on attendance" and then cites that as the reason for the Nets fans being on the list. Also, TERRIBLE reasoning for the Cardinals. Yeah pretty much a crappy list. Needs Eagles fans higher, and Celtics fans need to be on there and near the top,
  12. I think, the confusion is that people are assuming that humidity provides greater dynamic pressure upon the ball in flight because "the water molecules get in the way." The molecular mass of water is about 18u, while the masses of diatomic nitrogen and oxygen are 28u and 32u, respectively. The dry air has more of the higher weight molecules per unit volume and actually provides more "resistance." Ah alright, now I feel dumb for not realizing this. >_
  13. Its all Hermida's fault. The man is being down the whole team. Hoping this is sarcasm.
  14. No way it carries, its to humid Baseballs travel further in higher humidity, all else being equal. Mind explaining how added resistance makes the ball go farther?
  15. lmao ahhhhh the truth comes out. the clouded eyes of a hater Force his way out? McDumbass has no one to blame but himself on that one. Denver fans can thank him for being the first idiot to trade a franchise QB in the history of the NFL. and the great fan base of denver? The same ones that openly booed orton the entire first practice.. or the same ones who compared everything anyone did to elway? lol! those comments were nothing but trying to kiss chicago fans ass and it worked. oh yea, and his teammates love him here. Bobby wades an idiot. I think it's way more like you're being stubborn as a Bears' homer. Seriously now, anyone who doesn't think it's completely Cutler's fault and that he was a huge baby fag who couldn't handle the business of the game legitimately has something wrong in the head. I don't think anyone's hating on Cutler's skill in this whole argument, I think we're just trying to get you to see that you can't just take Cutler's numbers last year and think he's going to bring that to Chicago, in a new offense, new players, completely different system of run-first and play defense. I don't think anyone should really think he's going to come close to that. We're just saying that you have to understand that the acquisition of a more skilled QB in a system that doesn't require that much out of the QB position is not as big of an improvement as you are claiming it to be.
