It wasn't broken last July for keving Gregg. He was still 'getting the job done'.

 

But when you're playing with fire you tend to get burned.

 

I'm not saying he shouldn't be closer, but he's not a great pitcher, that's my point. He can close for us and when his contract is up, take the draft picks he'll give us for racking up saves, regardless of his era.

 

A little different though in the "getting the job done" argument (not that I think that's a smart argument anyways). Gregg had 4 blown saves plus a loss at the end of June.

 

That said, it was really July and August when he started falling off, where he was 0-6 with 5 blown saves, which I assume was your point.
