November 9, 200322 yr jay definitely has a greater sense of awareness when he's in the pocket. i wanted brian griese to get his shot. he got it. he can pass better than jay, but considering our terrible offensive line, i think we NEED a quarterback who can move. i never thought i'd say this, but i'm hoping jay gets healthy soon. fortunately, they'll both be gone after this (8-8?) season

November 9, 200322 yr part of the blame in getting blindsided goes to the QB. you have to be aware of the defenders that could possibly come at you. if you already know that wade smith is horrendous, you should be looking out for anyone rushing from his direction. jay definitely beats brian in this department. he's also much more mobile. the only sense of awareness that jay lacks is the awareness of his receivers downfield (i know, that's what any QB should be MOST aware of). brian could potentially be a good QB for a team with a good line, but considering our circumstances, it doesn't look like he'll do particularly well as a dolphin.

No matter how the rest of the season plays out, the Miami Dolphins have already decided to make quarterback their top offseason priority. Even though the coaching staff goes to great lengths to defend Jay Fiedler, it knows, as does management that he isn't going to be a guy who ever gets the franchise to a Super Bowl. There has been plenty of rhetoric about Mark Brunell wanting to play in Miami, but don't count on it, for any number of reasons. The preference is to get a veteran for a year or so, maybe even (Brian) Griese if he reduces his financial demands, although no one is sold on him yet, either. But the push will be to get a quarterback in the draft, perhaps even the first round, or to trade for a young guy, like (Drew) Henson. There are financial ramifications, too, with Fiedler. He is due a $2 million option bonus by next March 14, is scheduled to earn a base salary of $5.775 million, and has a cap charge of $7.57 million. He's just not worth it. November 9, 200322 yr ya i thought griese deserved a shot and he proved he could pass better but has no awarness in the pocket. the 1st game i was willing to let go of the 2 fumbles. but todays was his mistake his fault. you would think he would learn his lesson already. we need jay back who can help this team wit his scrambling skills cuz the o-line cant block for nothin.

He is so much like Dan the Man it isn't funny. Hmm I can't remember his name either, but Philip Rivers is going to slip in the draft, and the dolphins might end up having a shot at getting him. Marino had a little bit better arm than Rivers, but Rivers can move, unlike Marino.
