so i'm watching the show and they just announced the starters for the AL Team

 

C - Mauer

1B - Teixeira

2B - Pedroia

3B - Longoria

SS - Jeter

OF - Bay

OF - Hamilton

OF - Ichiro

 

and all i can say is that i'm outraged. how the hell is pedroia more deserving than aaron hill at second base. but the thing that pisses me off is that hamilton is even an all-star. a .240 BA with 6 homeruns and hasn't played since the end of may. are you freakin kidding me, all-star voting is a joke. pppff josh hamilton :thumbdown

i don't have a problem with any of the NL selections.

There is one HUGE missing piece on that NL All star team as a reserve. Pablo Sandoval not making the team is a shame.

Only ones I have a problem with are Pedroia, Hamilton, and Molina. Overall the selections weren't that bad this year.

unfortunately victorino will probably get voted in instead of sandoval because he plays for the phillies. while for the AL kinsler will get the vote in a landslide.

i'm really surprised that hoffman didn't make the team.

Only one other NL selection that I'm kinda upset about. Only reason Zimmerman made the team is because of the every team needs a representative rule imo over Sandoval. Better options would've been Dunn (replace Pence) and Guzman (arguably having the best season for a Nats player), only reason Guzman didn't have a chance was because of the far superior seasons of Hanley and Tejada.

zimmerman has played well this season. he had that long games with a hit streak and i disagree that guzman has had a better season. although i really hate the rule that each team must be represented. if your team sucks and no one is performing extremely well, other deserving players should be on the all-star team instead.

I remember a few years back when Mark Redman had a 5+ ERA, and because nobody on the Royals was remotely good, he made the all star team

Because he's got the 7th OF highest OPS, 5th highest if you don't count the DL'd Ibanez and Beltran, plus he can play CF and LF in addition to RF.

I hate all star voting.

 

Hamilton shouldn't even be in the race and guys like Adam Jones or Carl Crawford deserve to start over him.

 

Molina is starting over McCann?!?!?!

 

Hanley should have DESTROYED Rollins in the voting.

Yadier Molina as a starter is BS. McCann got robbed. Jeter starting over Bartlett is a disgrace as well.

 

I say this every year but I'll say it again: ever since this game started meaning something, fan voting should've been done away with forever.

I'm kind of mad because the AL leader in Home Runs Carlos Pena is not already on the roster, and if he does not make it in the final ballot, that is just stupid!

No one hitting .233 should ever play in the ASG unless his ERA is low.. I'm not a big BA guy, but that's just terrible, homers or not.

Not when you consider that the only guy on the roster that he should could actually replace on the field, Brad Hawpe, is having a better season than him.
