November 10, 200322 yr I agree with Giants on Martinez. Although he is a great hitter with a superb lifetime BA and OBP, I just can't commit to a full-time DH in the Hall of Fame. Not to mention too few hits, HRs, etc.. And Giants, the Big Hurt HAS to be a HOF. He's practically the same as Jeff Bagwell in almost every sense, not to mention 2 MVPs, and he's been mostly at 1b his career.

November 11, 200322 yr Add Rickey Henderson, take away Admin Walker and Craig Biggio (both borderline). Soon to be locks include A-Rod, Vlad Guerrero, and Nomar. Jeter's case isn't helped by his declining numbers each season for the last 5 years.

Hoffman will not get in unless the voters realize that closers have a place in Cooperstown. Hell it might even be tough for Rivera to make it. Alomar might also be considered borderline.

November 11, 200322 yr These aren't HOF stats? 1174 Runs 2119 Hits 492 Doubles 297 Home Runs 1198 RBI 1225 BB's .315 Avg. .423 OBP .525 Slug. .948 OPS ------------------------- C'mon! The man has more career RBI than hits, and more walks than RBI AND hits! The rest of the numbers speak for themselves. Edgar Martinez is a HOFer w/o a doubt IMO.

Absolutely, postively disagree on Alomar and Glavine. They haven't been great the past couple of years, but both were HOF-caliber in their prime. Being a 2B and a lefty pitcher respectively doesn't hurt. They'll get in easily.
