August 25, 200916 yr They were talking about this on the radio the other day and I have to say I agree with what they were saying. It may actually work in our favor that the division is out of reach. If the Phils have the division in hand, they are more likely to rest their big guys for the postseason in those last few weeks when we play them. Factor that into an already favorable schedule down the stretch and we could be looking at October But like it was stated above, as long as we get to the postseason, I can careless how we get there. This season is definitely not over, however. Lots of baseball left to be played.
August 25, 200916 yr I'm one who thinks our chances at winning the Wild Card are not as high as the division. A 5 game sweep of the Phils would put us in good grounds. Assuming we can actually pull that off though. Fate is stronger in our own hands than in the hands of other teams.
August 25, 200916 yr I honestly believe that we're not done yet, but we need an awesome winning streak, I know it's tough, specially looking at the last games, but not impossible. One thing is for sure, if we keep losing games like we've been doing then the WC as well as the division are pretty much out of reach. Lets not forget that it also depends on what the teams above us can or can't do, they can play with their numbers, for us it's a matter of do or die. GO FISH!
August 25, 200916 yr The Wild Card has always been more of a Marlins tradition anyway. We never won a World Series by winning the division. Tha's because we've never won the divison. And until last year we had never been on top of the Braves. I want to do it again this year, even if we don't win the WC I want to finish ahead of the Braves. I HATE the Braves !
