Should Fredi be fired?

Featured Replies

Of course he should be canned. 1) I'm not sure how the pitching staff could have been handled more poorly this season, which includes the total inability to keep opposing baserunners from running wild; 2) I was amazed at the consistent failure to move runners up (what a poor bunting team!); I was disappointed about the failure of the team to utilize speed on the bases ... Hanley should have attempted to steal much more often, and Bonifacio and Maybin ... if they aren't running almost every time they get on base, what is the point of even playing them? With the Marlins, it wasn't "Speed Kills", it was "Speed Bores."

You also forget putting Maybin in the 8 at the beginning of the season when he should have been at the top of the lineup. Also, you forgot this team needs a MANAGER not a cheerleader!!

No playoffs in 2009 = Need a new manager.

This talented team underachieved along like some on this thread who were obvisouly watching the 1999 team and not the 2009 team.

Why is this even a topic ?? The dude had 1 consistent starter to work with all year, and no closer. He had a winning record against everyone in the NL East. We were in the playoff hunt until the very end and we won 87 games.

NO ... end of story.

We had a talented team not a good manager...

Yes... we've only just begun until he's out.

We know from the Girardi year that the FO likes to tell the manager which players they would like to see where. They fired Girardi because he resisted and tried to buck the system. (Not saying whether the FO was right or wrong in doing so). It seems to me that Fredi has allowed the FO to dictate his roster/lineup and he's been a good corporate employee so it seems unfair to fire him for the team not making the playoffs.

that is not why girardi was fired.

That is exactly why he got fired and why Fredi still has a job.

Should Fredi be fired?...No. Would I fire Fredi?...Absolutely!

Fredi has done a yeoman's job with this club, however he will never bring it up a notch more. I don't believe he is the one to bring this team to the next level. I say shake things up now and not later if a move is to be made, lets go for broke now
