Would you make this trade?

We have limited starting pitching depth, albeit at upper levels, and we have a lot to look forward to in the outfield in the future. There's no way I'd trade a pitcher that we could use in either the rotation or eventually in the back end of the bullpen for an underahiever in the outfield.

it would take less than hurk to get buck. he didn't perform well last season so a low level prospect could probably get it done especially with all the outfield dept the A's aded this offseason

You're probably right. I still think Buck has a nice little upside despite his struggles the last couple of years. He wasn't given consistent at bats and that is always hard for a young player to get into a groove that way.

He wouldn't be getting those AB here either (assuming life works correctly).

No, I don't think it's a good trade. But what about Andrew Miller? Not in this trade but getting rid of him in general. I think he has shown little upside and he is kind of expensive for a guy you don't know can even make the team. I think this experiment has proven to be a disaster and with the Marlins in contention I believe his salary could be much better spent else were.

It would be stupid of the Marlins to trade Andrew Miller for Travis Buck.

I don't think he meant to trade Miller for Buck. He just wants to get Miller out of town. I think they need to give him a little more time. Sometimes lefties for some reason need a little longer to develop. I'm sure the Expos wish they had held onto Randy Johnson a little longer.
