A new manager will mean changes ... or why change managers? Will these changes be significant or subtle? What do you hope they will be?

I'd like to see

1) A change in the batting order. Hanley's hasn't been there in the clutch but he is running more. He's the top stolen base threat and the guy you'd like to see get the most at bats. Sooo, Hanley to leadoff with Coghlan, the lefty, hitting where he belongs in the two hole. Sanchez is hitting well and seems like a natural for the three spot. Cantu, despite travails of late, stays at the four hole by default. The rest of the lineup you could put in any order.

2) I'd package Uggla and Maybin in a deal for Cliff Lee and a good young pitcher from the Mariners. Cliff Lee is one and done, in all liklihood, but if the owner feels like the Marlins should be winning the division this year, he does this. The Mariners need offense and Uggla can provide a little of that. The Mariners do have a good number of capable young pitchers to include in such a deal. Coghlan moves to second base and their are better options than Maybin in the Marlins system to fill the last outfield spot.

3) Showcase a bullpen full of pitchers that don't walk people. Bringing up Sanabia, as the Marlins just did, should be the ticket.

Uggla and Maybin for Cliff Lee AND a good young pitcher?

If we throw in Cantu can we get King Felix aswell? :mis2:lol

Haha we aren't getting lee that's a fact

here's my three moves:

Pitching coach - Alex Sanabia

Hitting coach - Mike Stanton

Head coach - Nic Ungs

actually I don't have many problems with what they were doing already. Maybin needed at-bats, Stanton's fine at the bottom of the order for now, Hanley's getting it together and will be back in 3rd soon enough. Freddi's been throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the bullpen, not really his fault that no one's stuck.

I'm surprised Cornfield's first change wasn't "Bring up Jacksonville Suns manager!"

What about Nick Saban for 3rd base coach?

Screw him. Sanabia and Stanton did it on talent alone.

Throughout the history of baseball there has been a common theme and that is to put your overall best hitter in the 3 Spot in front of 2 guys who get on base.

Struggling or not Hanley is our best hitter and arguably one of the best hitters in the league. Those two guys who get on base are Coghlan and Gaby and as you saw last night when they get on base Superstar can make things happen.

Now with that of the way you could change a few things in the lineup if it got out of hand but they haven't so leave everything as it is.

If it ain't broken don't fix it.
