I prefer Paulino to Olivo by quite a bit. Better all around.

No doubt over the long run. Ronnie has even improved his defense since getting the bulk of the work. I do believe he has tired with all the starts, but it is mostly showing up with his bat. It is nice to see Hayes finally getting some. If only Hayes could improve that bat....

What's the "wow" about? Where was Paulino's name even brought into it except by you? And I'm one of the very few that have consistently said I like Paulino over Baker because of his glove work. Try to keep up and keep the insults to yourself if you don't fully understand what is being said.

The "wow" is because apparently you are a Miguel Olivo fan. That's unbelievable.

Ronnie Paulino is cool, but Miguel Olivo is a "board whipping boy" because he sucks. The very concept of you defending Miguel Olivo, maybe the worst defensive catcher in the game, is mindboggling.

That's talking out of your ass.

The numbers show Paulino was much better in 2009. He was a +4 last year and this year he's a 0. He had 3 total passed palls in 582 innings in 2009, and already 4 passed balls through only 524 innings this half season. Not to mention his CS% is three points lower. More than likely his excessive use has led to this performance, but I don't see him being any better in 2010.

This is one of the many reasons why we don't trust your "eyes" when it comes to defensive evaluation. Just like when you said that "Christian Guzman doesn't get enough attention" as a defender, while he is historically one of the worst defensive infielders in baseball (I don't mean worst in the history of the game, but simply looking at his career).

Numbers aren't everything, but it would help if you actually had credibility to go with your "observations."
