August 5, 201016 yr What it says in the thread title. I really don't like this move. Hayes is a complete and total void at the plate and hasn't looked better than Davis behind it. Davis is a decent hitter for a catcher and since we had to add him to the 40-man anyway, which was the real reason why Hayes was in line before him, there is no point in not going with the guy who can at least provide some offense. Oh well, we're out of it anyway/

Mischief! haha exact same time! :lol But Hayes is also the better defensive catcher, right? Possibly, but it seems to me like Davis was working with the pitchers pretty well. I root for the guy because he was featured on the Inside The Marlins minor league show. I thought he was gonna be one of those many system guys who never cracks the majors, and I thought it was too bad becuase he seemed like a very likeable guy.
